I have backpacked around Europe, stared down North Koreans on the DMZ, and acted on stage.
I learned to ride a motorcycle when I was 8.
I think if I won the lottery I would be living on a sail boat in the Gulf of Mexico, slowly making my way from place to place looking for a strong dollar, cheap rum, good music, and the occasional cheese burger.
Speaking of music, I can listen to almost anything that isn't sung by a would-be criminal or teenager loser whining about his miserable life.

I moved to Denver about 7 years ago and I'm still finding new places to explore in Colorado. I'm always up for good conversation and exploring new places and activities. While I love my trail running and knobby bike tires, I'm also trying to accomplish something with my life. So I got a phd, wrote a (technical) book that many consider the best in the field and now, though I'm not a professor, I'm being asked to help organize the big conferences in my field. So far so good.
I believe in good manners, mutual respect, serial commas, and (evidently) parenthetical remarks. I can fix a car, tell a joke, and plot a graceful escape from a boring social engagement.
Instead of trying to describe me, let me describe the kinds of people that I hang out with. That way, if you recognize birds of a feather, perhaps we're meant to flock together. Despite being a software guy, I hang out with few engineers since there's already plenty of geeky time at work. Probably a bit more than half of the gang have phds and all of them like to talk about ideas. Most of them love biking, running, hiking, etc. and we like to organize trips. I love dance and am usually out 4 nights a week and train really hard corps 4 hours a week. I personally enjoy Latin (most ubiquitous), ballroom when I can find a well-trained partner but Ballet is the coolest. I am in Colorado Ballet’s advanced level open program and auditioning all over this fall. Physically, mentally and visually, this is the coolest adventure I have ever had. The discipline imposed upon you be the need to constantly train and work out (24 hour fitness is my second home) has sharpened me mentally and physically in ways I never imagine possible. It’s really a challenge but damn! It’s fun!
Intellectually, I personally think I am a little off my rocker. I love dissecting articles in medicine, alternative energy, space exploration, finance and international relations the exploring the critical pathways they set us on. I’m a god on standardized tests.
