Meet a man from Colorado, United States. I Listed myself as Divorced because for intents and purposes I am...it is just a matter of some behind the scenes details I am sure most of you are familar with...but I do want to be honest and let you know that I am technically Seperated since the divorce is not quite final....I have been seperated for a year and a half.
I truly am ready to move on...and have been for far too long....staying together for the kids was just no longer an option.
Life is far too short to not be happy.
My soon to be X and I have a very amiable relationship and are doing our best to make this transition as least impactful on the kids as possible. The impending divorce was a mutual decision...no drama...no bitterness.
I know way too many people who's divorce is ugly and ultimately puts the kids unfairly right in the middle of a situation that is no fault of their own.
OK...hopefully you've made it this far and are willing to let me tell you a bit about myself :)
I will admit that it is alot easier for me to have a face to face conversation than it is to write about who i am and what i am looking for....but i'll give it a try
I am the consumate optimist, glass half full kind of guy. I have a great sense of humor...just ask me and i'll tell ya
I was brought up in a large Irish Catholic family (8 kids) and know the importance of being a gentleman and treating you like a lady.
Growing up in a large family also has some perks for my S.O....
I do my own laundry and have since I was tall enough to reach the buttons on the washer and dryer
I know what a dish washer is and know what's supposed to go in there and what's to be washed by hand
I iron all of my own clothes and will do some of yours if you ask...
I know how to cook a mean box of Lasagna.
I am truly a great cook out on the grill and love to cook out year round.
I spent 5 years working at Copper Mountain Ski resort (as a heavy equipment mechanic of all things) in my younger days and can still ski the pants off most people.
I was a mechanic for 10 years so I truly am very handy to have a round...
I am equally comfortable going out and having a good time at a bar dancing as I am hanging at home cooking a nice dinner and having great conversation.
I have 2 incredible Children (13) and (9)
I am a self employed business owner and have been for 15 years (Can't imagine ever working for the "man" ever again)

I'm normal and completely at ease with myself (oh my, that’s some outrageous claim for an online date seeker, eh?) I’m fun. I'm good company. I'm gentle and easy when appropriate and unafraid of intense emotions . And so I do well with kiddos, pets, and your protective friends and relatives! I'm friendly, approachable, and quite curious about what it’s like to be you. I ask a hell of a lot of questions. But I give no advice. I'll show you how you already know how to solve your own problems instead of doing it for you. I'm optimistic, confident, and comfortable with life's ironies and inconsistencies and reality in general. I'm easily delighted, never disappointed. I find humor in every absurd situation life has to offer.
My reading and career interests involve pathologies of the mind; nothing is more fascinating than childhood trauma and subsequent chaotic relationships and addictions. I consider my job to be excellent training as I get to interact with many people who were abused whether they're aware of the abuse or not. I spend my work hours distilling and defanging addictive disorders. This is a position for which I would not only volunteer but would gladly pay to have (as in tuition.) Now, how many people can say *that*?! I've begun a clinical counseling MA and a PhD/PsyD may be in the works too.
I'm certainly not looking for the female version of me. For example, I like to ride my bike but you don't have to even own one. And you'll never be forced to listen to an excruciatingly detailed description of my superduper-awesome-killer-epic workout or race. It doesn't matter if you and I haven't seen any of the same flicks or read the same books. People frequently mistake commonality for compatibility, ever notice that? Whether or not you can put together an uber funny and alluring profile essay is meaningless (I've met writers - they're depressed and self-absorbed. I've met women who don't write - they can be superb.) It's all about what happens when we're face to face, would you agree? But - do you recognize the first line of my blurb here???
I'm not interested in how great or awful you look on paper; by now I expect everybody out there to have one or two juicy and permanent neuroses and a good amount of emotional baggage. That’s routine and that's just fine because, you see, what matters most is how you're working with it and not whether or not it's there.
And speaking of looks, I do hope you're able to get a chuckle from all my pics here. None are serious, all are ridiculous in some way. I say keep it light here on Match, ya know?

Here's a good one, 100% true too. I met a mid-40's mom of 4 for drinks at Jax. Great stories and lots of charm from this one. But a guy she dated for 6 (six!) years turned out to be not what he seemed and she was still smarting over it. Her strategy for avoiding future disasters went like this:

Q. Why does the University of Colorado need to brand itself?

A. The ways CU now presents itself in messages and visual images are fragmented, ineffective and inefficient. The university competes statewide, nationally and internationally for resources, students and attention. Sending mixed messages, confusing images or a fragmented view of the university puts the university at a disadvantage in that competition.
