Date men and women from United States / Colorado / Niwot, 44 year old

Date men and women from Niwot, United States. Me:
I am a 44 year old male and after 10 years of living in Colorado I am still amazed at how wonderful it is here.
About three years ago I moved to Boulder County from Denver. I was tired of the commute from Denver to Boulder.
Currently, I live in Niwot and like most people in the area I enjoy out door activities like biking and hiking and snow shoeing.
In addition to outdoor activities I enjoy a good movie, dinning out (currently my favorite restaurant is Chez Thuy in Boulder),
I also enjoy going to the museums in Denver. I am well educated, still curious as a 5 year old, I like a good conversation and I like a good challenge. I am passionate about cooking, healthy foods and photography. I love music but don't play an instrument.
You:
Looking for a special person to share my time..., Would like to meet a bright, kind, adventurous women with a great sense of humor.

Meet a man from Niwot, United States. Have you even gone to your friends about ideas for meeting people? Its the married people that really have the worst advice -- A Penn State Alumni single's cruise? (Really?). My dad suggested a bus tour through the Wyoming and Yellowstone might do the trick. I've heard a few "What about Facebook?" but you know, I have no clue about how to go about that, considering that my news feed is cluttered with all my conservative long lost high school friends liking "being conservative" or "Ronald Reagan." It just seems like Facebook is more a lesson in tolerance than an opportunity to actually find something you like about someone. And a reminder that my hometown has more in common with "Footloose" than I'd like to admit.
I will start by saying that I am an engineer, proud of it. My work isn't my life -- I enjoy art and music in my free time, like to design and build furniture, and now have two instruments under my belt -- a ukulele and a hammered dulcimer -- now I just have to learn to play them! I live here for the weather, the great hiking, and if you haven't guessed, a comfortable concentration of middle of the road and liberal people in the Boulder area.
Some of my favorite things -- a long walk in the woods (I know its cliche, but at least its not on the beach), enjoying a romantic dinner at home (if homemade pizza counts as romantic), a day at the museum (and the dreams and ideas that follow for days afterward), live music, and Sunday morning breakfast (probably my favorite meal), fresh flowers on the table, coffee and a good book.
Now I can't say exactly what I'm looking for in a woman. Honesty and openness are things I look for in a friend, and I also find that extremely sexy. Curiosity is a wonderful gift -- silly feline sayings be damned. Quirky, sure. Beyond that, well, drop me a line and we'll see if something clicks...
