I am a �Spirit of the law’, rather than a �Letter of the law’ kind of guy. I believe we should �live and let live’ and �do unto others’. As long as personal boundaries are respected and feelings are considered, I’m all for everyone finding whatever happiness they can, wherever, however and with whomever.
Yet, while being liberal in thought, especially on social issues, I tend to be fairly conservative in my own lifestyle choices. My core values are honesty, open communication, a consistent moral compass and a good work ethic.

I’m reasonably sure that I have a pretty good head on my shoulders. Sometimes I am better talking deep than small-talking. I’ve been told - and who am I to argue? - that I have quite the keen wit, even if prone to the occasional groaner. Altogether, I guess that makes me seriously amusing.
I tend to be skeptical of authority, question all assumptions, enjoy thinking outside the box and think �political correctness’ is a good idea gone bad. I'm no fan of organized religions, which should limit themselves to knitting communities together and providing sound values. FYI – I was brought up Jewish, but don’t participate.
We have one planet that we all live on. We must take care of it and learn to live together and get along. Color me green.
Wellness/fitness is something I have gotten into over the past four years. The Tommy Bahama/goatee photo is from late '07; the two light blue T-shirt shots (30 pounds lighter) are from July '09 taken 20 minutes apart. The head shot is from March '10. The two of me in a tie are from the Ryder Cup in Oct '10. The most recent are the four from Dec '10 (Maui). According to the BMI, I am still a few pounds beyond optimal for my height. I have always enjoyed the fine art of kissing and have received numerous compliments over the years. It is my plan never to outgrow this.
Other interests include reading (fiction, history, biography, current events), dining out, the theatre, museums, movies, live music at venues large and small, David Winter Cottages, LOTR collectibles, playing golf. I enjoy a good walk with good company, especially on the beach at sunset, a gentle breeze off the ocean, all at exactly 72 degrees. OK, I like being almost anywhere at sunset.
But by far the most important thing to me is to travel more. Places with history and art, but also places of great beauty. Particularly Europe, but also the Orient, etc.
As superficial as it sounds and may very well be, I admit that looks matter. While no GQ hunk looking for a Victoria’s Secret model (which I would be intimidated by anyway), pleasing to my eye at least is part of the process. So no photos, no reply. (Close to my age but looking younger is a great combination.)
I find that I get along better with a professional person. Erudite is good, as are being fairly self-sufficient and low maintenance. Not someone who needs constant attention and reassurance. Drama, I believe, belongs on the stage. It’s not that I am the prototypically male insensitive type. I’m not. It’s just that I don’t have a lot of patience for anyone too needy. That doesn’t mean I’m not occasionally oblivious; and for that, I apologize in advance.
Interests in common are good, but I am also looking for someone to bring new things to my life. Spontaneity is also welcome, as that’s not something I engage in often enough. I also believe in sex before death.
