Date single man from California, United States. I guess friends and relatives would be better insight at describing ourselves . . . so, I am going to use some phrases that they have used to describe me: geniune, honest, positive, easy going, patient, optomistic, kind, giving, respectful, intelligent, a gentleman, a good sense of humor, smile alot and and a happy person, down to earth, young at heart, "cool", fun, healthy and active.
After seeing and talking to me, most people guess my age as being in my early to mid 40s and I feel that I have a young spirit. (And I've been told I look better in person, than in photos). I would say that I am a good communicator -- and I truly do listen! Through the years, I have become a pretty good judge of character and I am very perceptive. Coming from a large, loving, family and growing up in Illinois and Colorado, I have been taught some good, solid values. Even though my extended family is spread over the U.S, we are a close family and have a great relationship with both my parents and all of my brothers' and sisters' families. During my marriage, I helped raise two step-children as my own through their teenage years and I do understand and embrace family closeness.

I chose to move to the Central Coast over 20 years ago and have had an interesting professional career with some diverse and challenging jobs all over the US. I enjoy my career and yet I don't base my "life" accomplishments on my work. I have found that its all about a balance of work and life after that day at the office. My goal is to semi-retire within the next few years so that I can enjoy other passions and explore more things in life. One thing that I currently enjoy is working part time in the wine industry since we are in one of the wonderful wine areas of the US.

I am looking for a partner based on a geniune friendship, a mutual attraction, a growing love and sensual intimacy. I hope to find someone who is loving, kind-hearted, giving, positive and easy going. Hopefully, we would share a number of mutual interests and yet accept each others individuality. Someone who can be comfortable, confident, happy with their life and insightful. Chemistry is definitely part of the equation and can sometimes be instantaneous or could grow over a period of time. I hope to find a relationship with a woman who communicates well and with ease, someone who is softly expressive and is not pessimistic nor argumentative. A woman who would feel confident and comfortable just hanging out in jeans, but can be ready to slip into that "head-turning" little dress for a romantic evening out together.

This is just a glimpse of who I am and what I am looking for , , , so if you see any possible interest and would like to get to know one another . . . just let me know!
Meet a soulmate from California, United States. Let's see now...I'm passionate and driven in my goals and the things that interest me. I'm very easy to get along with, always positive, smiling and upbeat. Sports, as in athletics, as in doing something as opposed to watching, are important to me. I travel around the world as a journalist, covering grand prix motorcycle roadracing. That's a sport that demands the best of everyone--the best bike, rider, mechanics, tires and so on. That's one reason GP racing appeals to me. Being the best you can be, never give up on your goals and dreams! I read three newspapers a day so highly intellectual women (like college professors) appeal to me. I'm fun to be with, do lots of interesting things and really enjoy active, athletic women. Women in their 40s are the greatest thing ever! The first two photos of me here are from June 2003 when I was in Barcelona, Spain, working for Associated Press. The background is the post-race interview room at the Gran Premio de Catalunya. The second two photos are from the same race but in June 2004 (I'm in the orange t-shirt). I really value family things. My dad is gone; my mom and I have a great relationship. I had a great childhood because my grandparents were close by. My grandmothers were the best people! Ask me about them-- they were small in stature but giants in my life. Aggie/4H women are pretty cool as they have lots of common sense. And I love little kids and they love me. I love to babysit my friend's kids. I'm kind, considerate and lots of fun to be around. I still maintain contact with my third-grade teacher. I send my mom a letter or card everyday and enjoy writing letters. When home, I run bulldozers or work as a construction forman. I get told all the time I am exactly like my father in my working life, which is a good thing. My dad was the greatest salesman in the history of the California oil industry; though he died in 1993, I still hear stories about him. Women who are active, intelligent and fit--it all goes together. A great smile and outgoing personality completes the package. Self-confident, self-assured women are awesome to be around and I'm am amazed how sexy an intelligent, educated 40-something woman is. A willingness to travel, to try new things helps a lot. Are you a happy person who loves life and has a lot of energy? Dislike the run-of-the-mill, like to meet new people and experience new situations? If you do, I'd sure like to meet you. If you've got kids, that's great. I love to babysit and just love being around children. I've never had my own kids, just one of those things. I'm pretty old-fashioned about that sort of thing, I believe you should be married before having kids. So no wife, thus no kids. I'd love to adopt some kids. Maybe I should have be an elementary school teacher--I've been told all my life I'd be a great teacher for little kids but my life just went in another direction. I live by a school and the sounds of the children on the playground is great to hear. Some of the hotels in Spain that I stay in are near schools and kids are the same the world over--happiest when yelling and playing.
After the photos from 2003 and 2004, the rest are from 2006 in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, for the Gran Premi de Espana, then Gibraltar and finally the U.S. Grand Prix at Laguna Seca in Monterey with AP. Plus a couple of shots from Graceland. I went to Memphis on October 2005 then drove down to Arkansas to see the farm where my dad was born in 1924. On that trip, I stood on the exact spot where my father was born, I stood on that spot on what would have been my dad's 81st birthday.
When home I do construction work between my trips, thus the shot of me and the D6 Cat.
I was born in Taft, Calif., and love to travel. Anywhere, anytime and if it's to some place where they don't speak English, so much the better.
I played volleyball at a very high level for 20 years, including 3 years on college teams.
