I have been blessed to share some wonderful relationships in my life. I have to be honest and say it took me a while to catch on. Early on, I was intent on showing up as what I thought the other person wanted me to be. While this was well intentioned, it didn't really work. I know now that what does work is being willing to show up authentically together, listening, paying attention and let pleasing each other flow naturally out of that. It has to be OK and safe to ask for what you want, but isn't it nice to not have to? I am intent on continuing to learn and grow as a person and desire a partner who wants to do the same, for herself and as a couple.
