Meet a man from Redlands, United States. OOOOKAY! A friend read my profile a while back and called me immediately laughing her buns off. She's known me for over 20 years and told me that based on my profile even she didn't find me interesting. She suggested I spend some time re-writing it and include information on who I am, etc. So here goes....divorced after 22 years. It was painful but i'm over it and have been moving on for a couple of years now. I spent 20 years in the corporate jungle (Chief Executive Officer) which I realize now was 10 years too long. Today I am a management consultant and love it. I can finally control my time and schedule in order to go and do what I wish. I work hard and am focused and take my responsibility seriously, but I do know when and how to "relax". I stay fit through weight lifting and yoga and a decent diet. I'm much more active than most men of my "vintage". I'm sort of a renaissance man, meaning I find many things interesting. I'm told I'm a good conversationalist and I do love a good debate. Even more important is the fact I'm a good listener.... If you're not, try it. Amazing what you can learn.
I love to cook, play golf, ski in the winter, beach and/or mountains in the summer with a couple trips to the desert in between. I prefer having someone to share these trips with but am content to "go it alone" if necessary. I can tell you I enjoy long walks on the beach holding hands, but who doesn't enjoy that with that special person? I enjoy a good wine, single malt scotch and a good cigar when appropriate. I'm a natural jokester who loves to make people laugh (so bring your Depends) and make me laugh as well. It keeps me young! I have Midwest values (open car doors, pull out chairs,etc) but hey- it's 2012 and I suppose I could be trained to drop the attentive/chivalry stuff, if desired!
Now as for online dating, it's obvious I'm a rookie and I must say I have small concerns that we're all headed for a time when "partners" are chosen via a strict punch list that allows no room for anyone outside of the stated "requirements". Is he too tall, too thin, third eye, floppy ears? It's my experience that I can't predict where (whom) my heart will focus on and I like to keep it that way. Isn't that the exciting aspect of the search. I'm 6' 3" and thus accommodate tall women who like heels but shorter women are just as welcome. I'm not an amusement ride so there is no real minimum although if I have to attach a bike beacon in order to keep from continually losing you in a crowd we may want to re-think things.
Are you a strong woman who speaks her mind? It works for me. Are you a thinker? Great, I will probably appreciate your opinion (please have one). Can you handle someone who wakes each morning a bit cheery! I've been told that it's annoying to some.
