I have been divorced for two years, have two wonderful daughters in high school, and rent a small but delightful cottage in the local foothills, far enough out to see the occasional coyote but close enough to town to allow for a comfortable walk to late breakfast on the weekends. I work for a well established NY based firm, but have started or been directly involved with the staring of a dozen or more small companies in Silicon Valley. I have made enough money in my career to be financially secure but not enough to retire quite yet.
I am a very friendly and giving person, somewhat quiet but well liked and respected by my friends and peers. I am looking for someone who enjoys casual activities together as well as a reasonable amount of social interaction with friends. I'm not big into fancy, much preferring a low key, understated life style. I want a partner who is not afraid to say what she wants and is willing to communicate openly and directly. I am looking for someone to spend the rest of my life with, enjoying many of the simple things we all have around us. I am not caught up in expensive toys and gadgets, although I spend most of my professional time in the technology field with a particular passion towards investigating ways for what we develop to help make the world around us a better place in a variety of ways. On the other hand, I believe in planning as well. I don't believe in doing irresponsible things. Being spontaneous is good as long as all the doors are locked..... you understand what I mean.
I shoot straight from the hip. This does not mean I go around hurting people at the drop of a hat. It means I am a true person. I don't believe in mind games. If I like you, you will know it. You will see it in my eyes, feel it in my touch. Sometimes I think my feelings seep from my pores, they definitely do from my eyes. I feel, love, touch 100%. No half measures for me. I do it properly or not at all. I am a very independant man, yet yearn for the support of a stable, established partner. Although I am fiercely independent, I am also very old school, where I believe the woman should take charge in a manner that does not involve ego.
I am a passionate animal and nature lover and follow a very natural life style. I look to nature for inspiration...the moon shining through the clouds on an overcast night, the sun setting in summer over the Karoo as you chug through on the train, butterflies flitting just out of reach but touching you with their presence as they go, birds waking you in the morning while camping in the bushveld, the waves crashing onto the rocks below the Windsor Hotel in Hermanus... I could go on forever. The beauty of nature is overwheling and touches me in a special way.
