People say I’m soft-spoken with a kind, gentle demeanor, but I’ll get downright feisty if someone mistreats you, me or my kids. I may seem serious on the outside, but often chuckling inside - seeing the amusing side of things, and every so often blurt out a quip.
I’m a complicated simpleton - pulled myself from the ground up by the bootstraps to become a neurologist. However, my most gratifying experience was being a stay-at-home Dad the last ten years. My son and daughter, both exuberant about life, are in college on their way to realizing their full potential.
I’m financially secure, young at heart and in appearance and free. I’ve taken on the next challenge, pursing a venture of passion.
I enjoy dinning out, fine wine, formal and not so formal affairs. I cook (yum, Dad), do dishes and clean up messes. I like staying at home watching movies, reading, cuddling and cracking each other up. Spice that up with big screen movies, live music, performing arts, and, of course, dancing. I enjoy the outdoors: cycling, kayaking, motorcycling, skiing, camping, weekend getaways, and golf. My favorite getaways are Silver Lake, Bodega Bay, Carmel, Yosemite, and Ashland Oregon. Lived in Carmel for 4 years in the 80's... a little piece of my heart will always be there; I go back and visit often. On the other end of the scale though, I enjoy concerts, indie movies, live theater, museums and galleries.
For longer vacations I like Sun Valley, The Tetons and Jackson Hole, Europe, the Seattle area, Bend Oregon, Yosemite, Yellowstone, and Europe. The next trip to Europe will be Ireland.
I'm very proud of my daughters: the oldest just graduated with a BS in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly SLO and will be moving to Seattle in September - after she backpacks 500 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail. The younger daughter is studying mechanical engineering at Sac State. My daughters have been the primary focus of my life since my divorce 8 years ago. They mean the world to me.
I'm hoping to find a woman that values honesty, desires companionship, enjoys the outdoor stuff I'm fond of, enjoys a day of motorcycle touring, and would like to find a life-long partner. I imagine she'll have children of her own, be part of a family that she stays in contact with, and gets together with them. She'll enjoy family gatherings and get along well with others. I've been married once - for 23 years. I'm willing to be patient in the search for the right person.
I'm passionate about my work: it involves building laboratories, hospitals, high rises, and educational facilities. I get to mentor young people and occasionally conduct training for others in my industry.
