I have never been the standard issue alpha male who wants to go out and meet girls in the crazy social scene. I usually say I'm from Boston but I am from a very small town in New Hampshire. Unlike the normal complacent New Englander, I was lucky enough to do a lot of traveling and got to see what the rest of the country has to offer. I was a full time musician for 5 years playing guitar in a rock band and toured all of the US and Canada for about 8-9 months our of every year. I had loads of fun and great times with my best friends but the road takes a toll, that's for sure. I am happy to be living a life with more of a routine but would never give any of those years back. I am not ignorant enough to think I have seen all there is to see, but learned a lot and got to meet some amazing people along the way. There was always something about the west coast in particular that seemed like I belonged. Being a serious golfer who has a fear for sharks, Arizona seemed like the perfect fit. Last August I packed up the car and made the journey. It took a lot of adjusting but I am now happier than I have been in years and really feel like I know who I am and what I want.
As for what I am looking for, it's nothing tricky. I just want to meet someone who is mature and shares some of the same values and interests as I do. Someone who would rather talk or watch a movie than be seen at the trendiest bar or night club. I am a very caring and sensitive guy who thrives on sarcasm and is not afraid to say what is on his mind. I have never really done the whole dating thing either online or in real life but am now willing to give it a go.

I've been living in Yuma for about 5 years now. Just bought my first house and am about to finally wrap up my first college degree. I'm head of IT at a local health center and though it drives me nuts, it really is a pretty good job. So while I don't figure I'll live here forever, I figure it's a pretty decent place to be for the time.
Generally I'm a fairly relaxed person. I like to hang out, talk, play games (Video or otherwise) or just watch a movie. On my own time, I'm generally reading a book, playing video games or working on or driving my car or truck. On Saturday mornings I can almost always be found somewhere in the desert with the guys and gals from Yuma Trails 4x4. They've also gotten me rehooked on going camping, and just getting out into nature. I guess the closest description I can use is a weekend country boy. Kinda nerdy most of the time, with a country streak.
I do want to settle down and have a family some day, and am looking for that perfect match. I am however not in any particular rush, and want to take my time to be sure I have found the right one. I think the best match for me is someone who is my friend above all else. Someone I can share interests with. Definitely someone who had an adventurous streak and is willing to try new places and things with me.
I don't have any family down here in Yuma, we have a tendency to spread about the country. Thus my (now) 3 dogs function as my family, and they're both like my little girls.

I'm currently in residency training...life can be busy, but I always make time for fun and exploration.
