I have a deep belly laugh and smile broadly most of the time. Both seem to make others feel good too so I can not refuse to share. I accept this as part of my job at work to decrease stress and tension.
I grew up moving state to state which shaped my personality. Then moved on to a stable way of life in the Air Force. Hmm… To survive most are shy or outgoing. I’m not shy. I have a broad set of experiences having been in 49 states and being exposed to a multitude of experiences. I learned to see life from a lot of different view points. Will you share yours?
I’m gifted with the creativity and the ability to create with my hands. When sitting on a porch with friends discussing our next projects my friends told me my difficulty would be to decide what I would not do so that I would have time for what was left. This thought was a revelation to me. My creativity extends to designing and building a home, making the light fixtures, building custom street rods, ceramics, building and refinishing furniture, metal art work, wood work and so on. I don’t consider myself an artist, but I think of myself as a craftsman.
I like the unique. I also have an unusual curiosity. The two together make up my strange sense of humor. Sometimes it takes too much thought to understand. Then I really shock people with straight forward humor. I collect unusual things that spark thoughts too.
I’m educated, but humbled and in awe of what people have learned and the challenges they overcome to get where they are. If we stop and truly open up our senses there is so much we can learn. Oh by the way don’t expect me to be perfect at this.
I never had children, but I’m part of the lives of 5 nieces and a nephew and now their family’s. My house is designed around them when they visit and family gatherings. I decided I have been too far away and want to be part of the great nieces and nephews childhood. They consider me big brother, uncle, grandparent, second dad and friend. I like them all. I will welcome yours too. My friends say that I would have made a great parent.
I’ve been called a gentle bear. I’m a large strong person with a gentle touch and a soft heart. I tend to give bear hugs too. I care for those around me and am protective. I trust up front, loyal to a fault and open about my life. Acceptance of where I am allows me to change and grow – a continual process, but what a journey.
