Meet a man from San Francisco, United States. Our first five dates....
1) Showtime; maybe a concert at Slims or The Independent, I am a big music fan and try to go to a show once a month; from cheesy tribute bands like Stung and singing til my voice dries up to The Gossip, Spoon, Paolo Nutini etc
2) After that start, maybe something more mellow, a night at something more cultural at The Red Poppy Art House, with dinner somewhere in the Mission beforehand.
3) Your choice, what would you like to do, introduce me to one of your haunts
4) Movie night at The Independent, a cafe style, open tables and chairs, a fun neighborhood experience
5) Dancing in the park; lets try our hand at a little bit of swing, and rock and roll at lindy in the park on Sunday lunchtimes near the De Young, followed by a walk out to the Park or Beach chalet for lunch.
About me, Scottish, slim fit, as they say good things come in small packages! Sometimes a little quirky, but at the same time can be professional and on my best behaviour! (have to do that all day in my day job in financial services).
I prefer mountains over beaches, beer over wine (but would keep you company), boots over flip-flops, blues over jazz, tea over coffee and eggs scrambed! I have rudimentary cooking skills, am not great at stuff that guys are supposed to be good at and struggle to park my car in spaces reserved for rv's!
For fun, well, I like the outdoors without being an Ironman! I am getting back into camping and have done some backpacking 101 in recent weeks. Took my first salsa class a couple of weeks ago, that was scary (and funny for the other people in the class), saying I have two left just doesn't capture the undignified lack of co-ordination...but not to be discouraged I am going back, albeit after consulting a few youtube videos on basic salsa steps! I really want to go to lindyinthepark.com sometime soon.
I think about stuff, maybe overly so, but that makes me considerate and a person who will think about you, fun things we could do together, stuff to chat about etc. I try not to get worked about things, no point worrying about things you can't control. I try not to judge people, try to be open and patient and try to leave my work behind but its not easy. Family are important, they are far away but close to my heart, they are my friends, I am very fortunate to have great fun parents to whom I owe much.
About you, you're fun, you're up for stuff, you'll dance with me spontaneously in the park or at a street festival, you laugh at my jokes, you will come with me to see the some strange band I heard on the radio and not give me grief if they are terrible, you like to sit at the window with a pot of tea, read a book and watch the rain pour down, and you can trade up and down in all aspects of life. I hope we have some common interests, and I look forward to you introducing me to your interests.

Date single man from San Francisco, United States. I’ve lived in San Francisco for 11 years. Originally from Michigan, I came to San Francisco to be closer to the ocean and the mountains. I then proceeded to spend too much time working. I believe this means I'm responsible, but in serious need of a vacation.
I am close to my family, at least in my heart if not by proximity. For different reasons, we've headed to various parts of the world, chasing whatever it is we think we needed. My brother is in Korea with his wife and kids, my parents are in North Carolina while my father continues to build the airplane he started years ago, and my other family members have spread out across the country.
In regards to my personality, I could tell you what my friends say about me, but they’re my friends and thus by law are required to lie and say nice things. Therefore, I’ll add a few random things about me:
I’d like to own a sailboat, but they are amazing money pits, so I continue to keep that on the "someday" list.
My brother claims he saved me from drowning when I was three. I maintain he pushed me in and only pulled me out to avoid getting in trouble.
I lived in Brussels, Belgium for five months but I only learned to say "vous prenez la deuxiume rue a gauche". I blame Coca-Cola for this.
My favorite comic strips are Calvin and Hobbes and The Far Side.
I once owned a Camaro and had "hockey player hair" (read "mullet"). I claim this was required of me because I lived near Detroit. I believe most of those pictures are burned now.
When I was four, my brother put a jumper cable on my nose. My mom didn't know whether to squeeze or pry to get them off. I suffered no lasting damage.
The best gift I ever received was an acoustic guitar on my 20th birthday.
Growing up I had a trampoline and I enjoy trying to relive the past at House of Air from time-to-time. It's more of a workout than it used to be.
Ishmael Baeh's book A Long Way Gone changed my perception of the world. I'm still not sure if it was in a good way, but it's a great book.
My friends say my "superpower" is my ability to lose objects quickly.
My brother and I are good friends, despite all the above stories.

I like watching for the green flash, that rare flash of green at the absolute last instant of a sunset. Sounds so simple, but it is the small things like this that bring me the most pleasure. Salty air, laughter, sleeping to the roar of the ocean, watching a rustling puppy dream, a nice dinner in or out...more of my pleasures. I am easy going, honest, patient, smart, active, health conscious(veggie), open-minded, and very friendly. I try to roll around on the ground with my lab at least twice a day. He coaxes me to the beach at least 5 days a week for a surf check, a round of frisbee, and a quick swim(him first, then me if the waves are good.) I do have a handful of quality friends in SF and abroad. I'm more prone to living somewhere for a period(maybe to stay) than short vacations. I do love SF; the diversity, compactness, music, international produce, clean air, and usually the public transportation. It is likely my current residence in SF will be my home for life, but I'm definitely open to a few years of expat living. Just finished building a beach house in Chile, so that is probably the place.

Date a soulmate from United States. The old (and overused) adage applies...work hard, play harder. Big ideas and physical challenges are forever keeping me invigorated. I just love to learn new things (could be an idea, a culture, language or niche music genre) and usually "deep dive" with my mind and soul into those that are most intriguing. For fun, I enjoy snowboarding/snowshoeing by winter and mountain biking, hilking and soccer by summer (assuming I'm not injured which seems to be happening more often these days!).
I currently run a start-up, so haven't had nearly the time I'd like these past few years to travel. Sicily, its people and its pristine ruins have a special place in my heart and I'm desperate to return this year. Start-up hours aside, I think its important to find the proverbial "balance in life" and enjoy social time out with friends or, for my more cerebral friends, a great speaker or panel.
And just about every day, I make sure to take my adolescent dog out to the beach. He didn't earn his nickname "Monster" without reason.
At risk of oversimplification, I think most people can be divided into two camps: those who explode like fireworks, and those with dull cow eyes. To put it bluntly, I am interested in meeting someone of the former category.
Passions vary, but in general I: love all animals and the people who love them too, desire to be intellectually stimulated and challenged (I confess to running a Wikipedia search on just about anything I have a passing interest in), and enjoy being pulled out of my comfort zone. I know for sure that I'm not a very serious person and try to look for something humorous in everything. I remember walking into a room while "Friends" was airing.
