From somewhat of a big family; I have 2 sisters 2 brothers. I am also the 2nd oldest as well as a Gemini; go figure. As for where I am headed, my move west was motivated by that. Opportunity abounds at Whole Foods and I wanted to get my teaching certification for yoga. (The latter rather then the former is turning out to be much more of a challenge.)
As for whom I am looking for, it is someone who enjoys great food, the challenges/opportunities of the great outdoors, family, and all that life has to offer. I know that seems like a very broad & generic description, which it is, but I'm one of those people that believe in chemistry of relationships and you never really know if you are going to click until you meet. Cliche but true, I created this profile out of curiosity and after more traditional encounters with several people in a row that really didn't quite fit it, and reading a few profiles that left me wondering why some of you gals aren't living happily ever after, I'm thinking it may be time to give this a more realistic go.
I'm dynamic, affectionate, more romantic than not, very trainable and presentable. Take me anywhere, really. Always happy to meet new people and go places I've never been. If I can learn something or see things few have set eyes on, that's even better. I have suits and ties and I'm more likely to be found wearing them when I'm not working than when I am. Though, I'm just as at home in jeans and Blundstones.
Well read and well traveled, I won't balk at most topics. A running joke among my friends is that I have attention surplus disorder. I read a lot and tend to embrace and explore my curiosities and obsessions. That can often mean reading several books, taking classes and getting out in the world and doing things. I'm an explorer, what can I say?
I'm a foodie and it'd be fair to say it's more of a lifestyle for me. Happy to cook, be cooked for or cook together and not shy about doing dishes or taking out the trash. I'll eat most anything but can also go for days eating nothing more exotic than tuna peanut butter and bananas on croissants and grilled cheese. I've gardened and foraged wild foods since I was small and grew up with family and friends that really cook. Traveling and living abroad also expanded my palate. I really like making sushi and onigiri but it's hard to beat a good cassoulet.
I'm also a bit on the adventurous side. Another running joke among my friends is that I'm often "over the line" and don't know it. I climb as often as I can, sometimes several times a week, mostly just out free soloing. I sail competitively, once a week or more depending on the regatta schedules. Pretty attached to my motorcycle and like vintage bikes in general. I'll jump out of planes and off of large stationary objects, kayak, raft, canoe, I'm game. I'd love to find a new caving partner and someone I can learn scuba or go surfing with. I'm not a triathlete, just very active but if you wanted to run one together I could probably be talked into. I've done this sort of thing most of my life, it's not a phase I'm likely to grow out of.
I like to combine all this stuff as much as I can and have been known to get up early to go climbing in the mountains, catch a late brunch in Marin and be back in time for an evening regatta on the bay before catching dinner and a late show. Though, there are those days where I'm happy just sharing a blanket in the park.
About you,
you'll be dynamic, adventurous and own hiking boots as well as little black dresses. You'd rather be outside than in and while active aren't much of gym rat. You don't have to be hardcore anything but you'll keep up with me if I keep up with you, be that in the air, on the land or in the water. I grew up in a small town, went to college on the East Coast, lived in Europe for a few years, and worked in South America for roughly five years (Mexico and Brazil). I lived in Israel one year. My life has been full of adventure and I have accomplished most of the things I set out to do.
