Date a soulmate from Berkeley, United States. I'm looking for a partner who is attractive, young at heart, active, healthy, secure emotionally, not overweight but loves good healthy food; someone who wants to heal the planet and can work together collaboratively to create a harmonious and balanced life together.
Meet a man from Berkeley, United States. Aloha. Thanks for checking out my profile. I'm Brian ("bri" to friends, family and loved ones), a divorced 50 year old ukranian/tartar mongol/russian jewish buddist leaning scorpio sometime litigator living in the Bay Area. Originally from Brooklyn, I studied restaurant management in FLA, was an apprentice chef in NYC & then moved to CA just before my 21st birthday! After cooking for a few years, I got a B.A. at UCSB, married, went to law school at UC Berkeley, & then spent the next 12 years practing law in the Bay Area. In the fall of '01, I packed up my family & moved to the Big Island, ran a food biz, made lots of life long friends, got divorced, & ultimately came full circle, returning to Berkeley & litigation in late '05. I'm currently taking an extended leave from my gig as lead trial counsel at the SF office of a big firm to regroup, refresh and figure out what comes next.
I imagine (or kid myself, LOL) that my friends, two daughters (17 and 21) & jewish mother would describe me as intelligent, quick witted, hard working, fun loving, intense, hilarious, demented, sensitive, warm, loyal, affectionate & of course, a great cook! Modest, too, huh? Like most chefs & trial lawyers, i can be analytical, focused & introspective. I can also be gregarious, enthusiastic, energetic, & a bit of a ham. And, like most russian, jewish and scorpio men, i'm passionate, a sensualist & an eternally optimistic, hopefull romantic. In Hawai'i, I catered, taught cooking classes, and created & marketed a line of all natural, hawaiian sauces, spices and seasonings. I loved being self employed & running my own biz, & it put me in touch with a creative side that I'd been out of touch with for way too long.In March '05, I moved back to Berkeley & began litigating again. My daughters, (one a junior art major at the U. of Hawaii, the other a sophmore at Mills), laughingly accuse me of having become a "metro-sexual" since returning to the bay area. Since me, my daughters and our extended ohana still consider the Big Island "home," and its my fave place on the planet, i visit often.
Currently, some of my favorite things include (in no particular order) cooking for & with friends and family, my daily swim, any beach, water in all forms, travel, exploring, old & new movies, books, authors' readings , any and all theater, museums and galleries, farmers markets (I worked at several in Hawaii), long country drives to cool little hamlets and off-the beaten track places, 400-plus thread count sheets, hang'in out, window shopping, soul, R & B, jazz, all sorts of restaurants (especially hole in the walls & locals only diners & dives, the sunday morning papers with good coffee in a comfy chair, the gentleman's spa mani/pedi at my local "nail spa," a good boxing match, long walks on a beach, spontaneous adventures, exploring, weekend naps, cuddling, kissing, and...
So why am I here? The same reasons as many other folks, i guess. I've been married, & in other relationships, had some great times, some not so great ones, and learned a lot. I remain hopeful, optimistic, & open to trying again.
Like most people, I'd like to meet & spend time with someone who shares at least a few of my interests, and has some cool ones of their own they'd like to share! Someone smart, funny, independant, adventuresome, compassionate, kind, sincere, emotionally available, physically healthy, warm, affectionate and sexy. Wouldn't we all? LOL! Seriously, who can predict emotional, intellectual and physical attraction, or chemistry? It's often so random! Nonetheless, for me, the sexiest, most interesting, and most attractive part of the human body is almost always the mind. Anyway, if you made it all the way through my epic profile, thanks! If anything in it resonated with you or piqued your curiosity, and you think we may be looking for similar and/or complimentary qualities in a new fr
