Date someone special from California, United States. Like you, I have many more dimensions than I can possibly describe. It's hard to pinpoint my "type", but as I think about it I suppose I do like a bit of an edge, maybe a little silly sometimes. I like passion. I like curiosity. Cool. Calm. Balance. Creativity. Lead. Follow. I like someone who occasionally helps contrive the circumstances to reach a higher plane of consciousness together. It takes time and surroundings. Effort. Attitude. Play. Humor. Embrace irony. Accept contradictions. Imperfections. Absudity happens. I also like someone who swears every now and then, as it seems human to me. I like a critical but realistic view of society. And now I must self-promote. ----- But first, full disclosure that I'm going through a divorce after a bona fide separation of several, actually many, years. Clean mature reasonable split. All in all, as healthy as can be. Working through the MSA now. Timing so that everything wraps up as my oldest daughter leaves for college this fall. ----- Okay, some of what I’ve done: I've been "educated". Have taken some risks just for the fun of it (like roadracing for a decade, sky-diving, SCUBA), hiked the John Muir Trail a few times, hiked a lot in the Alps, played some college football, lived in places like Zambia, Belgium and NYC, vacationed in Italy maybe 15 times, helped to generate two beautiful, talented, worldly, and interesting daughters (17 and 13) who I love tremendously, made some good choices, and some stupid ones, and lots more. ----- And some things about me: I tend to be intensely focused and on, or switched off and relaxed. Although more on the relaxed side now. Learning to better live in the moment, without physical risks to force that. Would like to discover yoga. Would like to paint or sculpt. Equally drawn to old heavy industry sites, pristine wilderness, urban decay, sacred spots near water. I'm a freethinker, and think forms of thought control or brainwashing are really messed up. Have a strong interest in metaphysical topics, cosmology, and in physics, from a lay perspective. Beauty! Can feel at special times an energy in the universe. Liberal on social matters, but temper that with economic reality. Progressive. Have views on the balance between government-provision of solutions and private, market-based ones. I'd like to think that dogs smile at me. No, I'm convinced dogs smile at me! I could never be a politician. No desire. Not threatened by your success. More consumed with Eros than power and status. gy-anthropology-conflict-geology-you get it. ---- Some things I have: humor, shoulders, tools, glutes, 50gbs of music (love anything that grooves, love Indian and middle eastern, love sitar, also western alternative, classic rock, classical, and other...), about 15 pairs of sunglasses. ---- Some things I don't have: I sold all my race bikes (and miss racing very much), health issues, piercings, much baggage, much hair. ---- The last several years have been all about my daughters as well as reviving my career. Racing had distracted me from the huge deficit in my life, but now that absence of deep connection and basic fun companionship is glaring. I'm excited about maybe finding someone special. I'm not in a rush, though, and you’ll find a very easygoing approach. The "One" might happen someday.
