I've been a Christian since age 12, and my relationship with God is the most important thing in my life. I support that walk with God through attending worship services on Sunday, being in several small groups, spending daily time with God in prayer and study, and serving through teaching and counseling others.
We're all at different places in life, and seeing others (including myself) as "works in progress" is important. Being judgmental or critical of others is not what I believe God calls me to be.
My politics run a bit on the conservative end, but I'm not a cookie-cutter Republican. I try to weigh each issue and politician individually, and pray for wisdom and understanding in term of whom I support and how I vote. Sometimes I surprise others and myself on the positions I end up taking.
My experiences in life have been varied and enlightening. My folks were married for 59 years and I never heard them argue. I get the rare privilege of sharing that kind of stability and love with my students who have known so little love and peace in their short lives. I traveled the country with a band I was in. One of my songs is still sung internationally. I've been on three game shows (won on two of them) and coached baseball for eight years. I pastored churches for 25 years and headed up two law enforcement chaplaincies for 18 years during that period as well. I was married for 32 years and have two wonderful children. My 31 year daughter and her terrific huband live near me with my two incredible grandchildren. My 27 year old son lives with me in the home I own. He courageously lives with a disorder and I have the honor to help support and assist him when needed. He is 95% independent and drives himself in his own car while taking care of his affairs.
I love traveling and seeing new areas. Camping and fishing has been part of my life for years, but on the flip side nothing beats a luxurious hotel and pool or beach in the desert, coast, or Hawaii. Being a history nut, I love getting to know about the background and culture of a new area, both before and during the visit.
I'm looking forward to finding that someone special to spend the rest of my life with. Chemistry has got to be there - there's no substitute for the "Wow!" factor. At the same time, dedication has to be there as well to match the magic of passion. You just know it when it's there ( and when it's not) I'm looking forward to coming home and spending the evening with my match, waking up in the morning so grateful that I'm married to that person. Vacuuming (yep), doing dishes, cooking (together), bringing her her cup of coffee in the morning, massages that will melt her, (was trained from the age of three-my dad worked on heavy machinery), flowers on those special occasions or just because she's special, verbally showing love or sharing an intimate evening (or weekend afternoon), I'm looking to a new life together with that special person.

I am truly easy going, warm hearted, do drama, no baggage, organized and secure due to a good career. I still do consulting from home with some travel. Very flexible work hours so I can get away on short notice. I did move seven times for my career but was fortunate to travel in the US, Europe and Asia and was able to take many side trips mostly in Belgium, Thailand and China.
