Well, at least part of it is laugh...just laugh. I'm a positive person who tries to find the best of most situations. Like most people, I’ve had tragedy and tumult in my life and those things have made me the person I am today...happy (most of the time), content (but not complacent) and "comfortable in my own skin". I accept people as they are, and ask only the same consideration. I think most folks are just trying to do the best they can every day, and, since nobody is perfect, I don’t let anyone else’s “bad day” change mine. Those are the qualities I look for in a companion.
Raised in a different time, I was taught to be a gentleman, and I still adhere to that philosophy. I open doors for ladies, walk on the street side of the sidewalk and say please and thank you. I love holding hands, but I’m not inclined to public displays of “affection” (does that make sense?). Of course, there's a lot more to me than can be described here.
Twice retired, I’ve pretty much discovered I’m not very good at it and have recently embarked on another “career” in a management position. I spent most of my working life in "service industries", first in Law Enforcement and then in Private Security Management, mostly in the Healthcare industry. I'm also a licensed Private Investigator, and had initially planned to work at that part-time, but found that not very satisfying. Having spent most of my life helping to resolve others problems, I'm happy to help, but I avoid people who have a need for constant "drama" in their lives and strive for peace and serenity in my own.
In my spare time, if I'm not on the golf course, most of my days are filled with caring for my pets and my house and spending time with my friends and family...family is very important to me. I enjoy reading and crossword puzzles...I love Scrabble, but it's not much fun playing "solitaire scrabble", walking my dog, swimming, light workouts, and, of course, golf. I don't drink, but I think it's great if others do. I cannot resist cigars when I'm playing golf (truthfully, I don't try to resist), but I am considerate of others.
