Date someone special from Villa Park, United States. I think I'm a bright, often interesting, sometimes witty, guy who is rather traditional. I lived with my parents until age 18, and then moved in with my wife-to-be. Was divorced in 2006, creating the odd circumstance of going out on my first "adult" date in my 50's. I still open doors, walk on the street-side of sidewalks and pay for dates.
I like watching most sports except for soccer. Just can't adjust to watching 20-odd world class athletes playing their hearts out for 90 minutes with the intention of preventing anything from happening.
Now that I've probably done a not-very-good job describing myself, how can I describe "what I'm looking for?" Attractive and interesting would be nice, but any woman is attractive to the man who cares for her. I know it's a cliche, but I still think kindness, loyalty and the ability and availability to love are pretty timeless and as important as ever. I enjoy discussion while on a road trip or at a restaurant or at home watching a movie--or some DVD--or going for a walk. Or best, going for a walk in nature or relaxing on a beach (especially tropical). But deserts have their points as well, and there is much of the US I have yet to see. With the right partner, it's all fun, it's all fulfilling, it's all an adventure, and we'll see together where that takes us.
Finally, though one can never know where a first date will lead, I'm no longer looking at dating for dating's sake. Ideally, the first date becomes one that leads to a friendship and that ultimately can morph into a long term relationship.
