Meet men and women from California, United States. Eclectic mix of backgrounds in science and the arts. Daily intense (ashtanga) yoga practice, also martial arts teacher. Very active, extremely fit, curious about most everything. I work as a biotech patent attorney in the east bay. Have previously been a molecular biologist, a marine biologist and before that worked in theater and physics. My interests are widespread and a bit eclectic including biology, art, theater, theories of change, neurophysiology, Buddhist philosophy, economics, yoga, martial arts (aikido), whitewater and sea kayaking. I love circuses and the theater -- go a lot and perform occasionally. I also enjoy the usual urban pursuits, good food, bad movies. I'm a voracious reader. Also highly irreverent, relatively easy going (yeah right), with a predominant sense of humor. Physically -- I'm 6 feet tall, 176 lbs, athletic build, receding hairline. Very energetic. I am playful, earthy, intelligent (emotionally and otherwise), nurturing, romantic, physically and spiritually vital, and financially secure. I love new adventures of all kinds, from travel to new places, to new kinds of inner or outer experiences, and I?d love nothing better than to share these with another. And while I?m drawn to adventure, I also appreciate domesticity and look forward to developing shared rhythms with a partner. My tastes are eclectic, but I am an appreciator of mastery and beauty in all its forms, from the brilliance of a dancer or drummer to the brilliance of the shifting patterns of light on the ocean on a cloudy day. I?ve done a lot of work on myself through various practices, including meditation, aikido, and yoga, with the aim of becoming sweeter and wiser and more clear-sighted, and my ideal partner will be on a similar path. I have a physically challenging daily yoga practice, which keeps me fit and embodied, and I need a partner who meets me in these respects.
One last note --Informed by previous match encounters -- If you are a smoker, politically conservative, have a substance abuse problem, live more than about 1 hour away, or have cat allergies we are probably not a good match. Experience shows that I do better with active/athletic partners often with a body mass index (BMI) of about 23 or less .
