Summer might find me on the Russian River in a canoe or boating in the Delta, but am also content spending a quiet day reading, on the net, or watching a ball game. Not a big winter sports enthusiast -- I like walking or hiking, but don't enjoy the cold. Saw the Stones in SF and McCartney in Sacto on back-to-back nights a couples of years ago and would love to do it again. Getaways to Tahoe, Santa Cruz, Lake Shasta, Mendocino, Monterey... It's all good. Disneyland is still a favorite destination. Give me some water to swim in and I turn into an otter.
I have a soft spot for animals and believe strongly in humane treatment for them all.
Did I mention that I'm allergic to cats?

My friends surprise me when they relate their impressions of me. They describe me in much more favorable terms than I do when I describe myself. Not that I don't have a good self-image; it's that I would be embarrassed to "over-evaluate" myself. Also of note is that my friends describe me as "reliable" and "dependable". I think those descriptors are probably accurate; however, I also know when to stop being dependable and reliable.
I am also (I hate to say) a little shy; some people think I am a little snobby because I insist that they "receive" me well or I generally won't deal with them; I just "walk away". I'm all about how I am treated. I intend to treat others respectfully and with interest and expect that they will accord me the same.
