After considerable thought on this subject I have decided to be very verbose and concise in describing myself and the woman I am searching for. (Please allow me to apologize for the contradiction in terms.) Trying to describe ones self is a daunting task, as we tend to see ourselves in a different light than we actually are seen and precieved by others. None the less, I shall endevour to be as neutral and accurate as possible while maintaining a " Positive Spin" in a P.T. Barnum kinda way. Born In San Francisco, drove cross county at the age five to the East Coast where my family is originally from. ( I did not drive the car myself, but would have gladly if anyone had requested that I do so.) (( I appologize for ending the previous sentence in a preposition)) "Ending a sentence with a preposition is something up with which I shall not put"Sir Winston Churchill Lived in D.C. with my grandparents then it was off to Europe at the age of six. Sailed on the Michaelangelo to Spain. Traversed the euro scene, then lived on the island of Ibiza for a year or so. Back to the good ole US of A where I settled in a little town called Woods Hole MA. Lived in a Norman Rockwell painting for several years with no parental supervision...Please Someone...Invent a time machine....Attended school in a four room school house....Ran amok (Sorry for the walk down memory lane.) Then back to California. Settled Berkeley. Became very "hip". Played in many bands, traveled the globe, smoked pot, quit, did business here and in Europe, fell in love, fell outta love, Developed great friendships along the way which I still maintain to this very day. (Did I mention that I like poetry?) Became a Contractor quite by accident. Studied various subjects of interest. Had three great dogs, all Geman Shepherds. (You can tell alot about a person by their pets, by the way.) I apologize, I have run out of room to write..I have not yet begun to write!Okay Ladies, If you are still with me after the preceeding harangue......I commend you! Once again I shall try to be very descriptive and to the point. I am searching for the woman of my dreams. ( Note the use of the singular subject of the sentence.) This woman should be beautiful, smart, sexy, funny, fun, spontaneous, brave, tough, (Able to put up with me.) enlightened, spiritual, sober, psycologically sound, healthy, monogamous, really cool, (Able to put up with me.) very loving and supportive in actions and words. A team player. Most of all this woman and I have to "Click". There must be INTENSE passion, love, respect, and chemistry between us both physical and psycological. We must have a unity of vision for our life together. (Once again, please note the use of the singular noun.) She must be willing to work with me to achieve the dreams that we create together. Please, if we communicate, be ready to actually meet in person. I do not wish to live in the land of make believe. Drop the mouse and get out of the house!(TM) You can't tell if there is any chemistry between two people through a computer, or even on the phone, for that matter. If you are a beautiful, intelligent and successful woman who finds that men are intimidated by you, please drop me note. Note: I have a wonderful son, to whom I intend to be a great dad. He lives in the Bay Area. If you are from another State or Country great, but I will be located here for the next ten years minimum.

I love to go out dancing, . I enjoy romantic music and slow dancing as well an fast dancing. I prefer romantic, attractive, affectionate men. I have traveled enough to know that there are many other incredibly beautiful places in the world beside San Francisco, and also that I am very lucky to have the comforts and bounty that we generally take for granted. I believe that all religions touch upon a spiritual truth that is at the heart of all of us. I dislike poor tippers, though I've never been a server. I believe there is a spiritual value to contemplating nature, to eating natural foods, to physical exertion, and to helping others. I love to read, to tell and to hear a good story; I believe in cracking each other up.

Just a few facts for now. First of all, I'm staying -- unless you drag me off to NYC or some Mediterranean village for a while. I've lived in San Francisco for the past 10 years, and for a few years intermittently before that. I have had a longish East Bay commute the whole time; but, the job and living here are worth it to me.
I like to get away. A lot. Lately, I have spent the bulk of my vacation time away from cities: surfing in Mexico and Central America, backpacking in the Sierras, and visiting family in Florida. But, I still love Europe and never feel like I'm there enough -- which, of course, makes me a Socialist.
I love my family deeply, and see them several times a year. My friends and their families are what keep me in the Bay area. They push limits. They're hilarious. And, they give a damn. Most like to hear themselves talk; but, they're way more generous than self-centered. Most, but not all, are Liberal.
I can't specifically describe you. I know we share values. I know you'll challenge me as much as you excite me. You like stories and creative stuff. You're passionate about something and enjoy a good argument. Kids generally like you. You read. You're warm. You can keep a secret, like your interest in horoscopes. In the end it's really the ineffable stuff that gets me, always has been. I like that part.

I am a well educated man, with 3 degrees from 3 different Universities. BS in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University; MS in EE from UCLA; and Law degree from Indiana University. I have been practicing patent law for 18 years. It has been a very rewarding career and I am proud of all my accomplishments. But I'm not done yet - I could probably retire - but I have some goals and dreams still to accomplish with my law career.
I like to travel. The pictures I posted are from a golf trip to Scotland in May. It was quite an experience, and I would love to do it again. I like England, Scotland and Ireland very much. I have traveled all over Europe and Russia. I have visited Israel and China. I would like to see more of China. Thereafter I want to see Australia and New Zealand.

For fun I like to golf and hike. Anything outdoors and where I am getting some exercise. Sitting at a desk all day stimulates the mind, but not the body. I like to get out and move around on the weekends.

Easy-going, from New England, down to earth (not crunchy), a serious side, big heart, person of integrity (humble, too!). Two-sport college athlete, but I don't read the sports page, I don't play golf, and I don't (and won't) spend Sundays watching football.
I like some exercise every day. Tennis = former drug of choice...a knee injury forced me to look elsewhere for exercise fulfillment, so I am swimming with a masters program these days (and love it). Have traveled extensively, but there's more I want to see/experience. Enjoy cooking (mostly fish and vegetarian), but like to do it for more than myself. Morning person: love sunrise w/ good coffee. Came to SF 25 years ago. Studied English, econ, and fine arts in college. Have worked in high tech for many years, and took a couple of breaks to do different things -- run fundraising for a small nonprofit policy center for three years and taught and coached kids tennis for about a year, (I also played tournaments, recaptured my youth!). Someday, I'll do it again (or something like it) -- you ok with that? Love cats, but don't have one. I can be reserved when I meet someone new, but once I meet my match, I'm a talker -- about everything and nothing.
YOU: A partner, confidant, best friend. Someone who likes (and gets) my sometimes-corny jokes. Confident with her independence and comfortable with her vulnerability.
