About my upbringing, I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, went to great public schools, attended college out East, and graduate school in Illinois, prior to California. My father was a physician and my mother a social worker. Both greatly valued education, community service, and travel. Growing up in the Midwest, we traveled a lot, and I taught English in Japan, after college.

You enjoy the finer things but have shopped at a consignment shop at least once in the past five years. You may have gone there to buy an antique.
