I like to be spontaneous as well as make plans. And if plans are made I’m flexible to last minute changes…unless I’ve committed myself and others are depending on me.
I used to be a workaholic but thankfully found a balance. Today I live a simple life; work no longer consumes the greater part of my energy. I enjoy the slower pace of a more leisure lifestyle. I'm financially secure (you should be also), retirement driven instead of career focused, and intentionally minimize the stress in my life. I try to associate with positive energized individuals and minimize my exposure to people with negative attitudes and clingy personalities.
I like working with my hands as well as my brain. I hate paying people to do things I can do myself but also know my own limitations. My past history includes building houses, mechanic, electronic technician, and database programmer. Today I work as a Network Engineer/System Administrator but still enjoy getting my hands dirty doing physical work, landscaping, maintaining my own vehicles, etc.
I enjoy being out in nature whether it's walking, running, hiking, or cycling. I'm always up for a road trip to some place specific or nowhere in particular. I'm getting more serious with my photography so going someplace with photographic opportunities is a definite plus. I like learning and engaging in new activities so teach me something I don't know.
I don't spend much time watching TV and tend to watch/listen to the news when it’s on. I utilize my computer often but am not into playing video/computer games. I do like movies and often rent DVDs: drama, suspense, action, factual or inspired by actual events, and comedy are my main choices.
I'm not a stranger in the kitchen but by no means consider myself a chef. I survive off my own cooking but am better at baking than preparing a meal. I have no problem following a recipe but after the first time I may have to...ummmm, modify it. I'm all about one-on-one time so playing in the kitchen together could be fun. I make my own jam and experiment with different fruit combinations: strawberry, kiwi, and blackberry for example. Mix it with Stonefield organic yogurt and it's much better than any of the store bought varieties.
I've had my share of being the one to constantly initiate and give. I have no desire to repeat past experiences. If you're a loving, giving person who takes care of yourself mentally and physically then we have a starting point to expand from.
