Of course, each of our stories vary greatly, and with great variance: Dramatic shifts, complete reversals, fits of destruction, flashes of enlightenment, steady climbs of success or struggle… But when we think ahead to what our future stories will be, (regardless of how elaborate our imaginations,) they are all, in truth, the same; They are all a tangle of infinite threads, weaving and unraveling themselves just beyond the threshold of the great unknown. Some braiding will be done by fate, and some by our own design. I don't know which of those brings me to this very strange universe of match.com, but it doesn't matter. One of my futures includes a magnificent discovery: a woman of my ilk, a destined unmet lover, separated by time and circumstance, and finally reunited with me, for the first time. It is this future that I intend to find.

I've chosen a somewhat difficult path up to the present. One that favors the young and tends to penalize the not so young. Being a 44 year old struggling artist / writer, comes with beautiful advantages, and benefits: The most notable being the luxury of observing, learning, and empathizing with humanity, and spending my life doing what I love. It also comes with costs: I drive a Prius instead of a Porsche, I rent a shoebox instead of owning a Mediterranean Revival, I have a few life long friends spread out among four cities and two countries, instead of a huge network of LA party goers, scenesters, and hipoisie… and, perhaps because of my previously transitory lifestyle, or perhaps because I wasn't ready until now, I haven't yet found someone to share my life with.
A note in the spirit of full disclosure: I currently spend an inordinate amount of time training for triathlons, which have become my love, my passion. I expect my training volume to wane down to a much more reasonable level, as the focus of my love and passion begins to change.
