Clearly whatever I've previously posted hasn't worked very well for me. I'm a fun loving kind of guy. But I am NOT looking for a hookup. Sorry, that's just not me. Not trying to judge anyone with that statement. Since I was a lot younger, I've needed something deeper. And I really don't do games. I've been around long enough to know what I like and what I don't like.

I'm a hard working guy with very strong, traditional values. I inherited my work ethic from my dad. And when I'm not working my full-time job, I'm working on my 7th start-up company. I'm the guy that comes up with the crazy idea or technology and then is expected to deliver it. But I'm also the guy that has to see the big picture. I would not describe myself as an engineer. I'm far too extroverted for that.
I'm loyal, faithful, funny, content, and easy to please. And I'm even keel. I served in the Navy and have been through a bit in my brief lifetime. I don't rattle easily. I'm also not jealous or controlling. If you've got a bunch of friends from high school, I don't care. If you like going out with the girls on a Friday, I'm good with that. However, I am not into swinging or open relationships. I've learned the hard way that if you can't be content with me, you're always gonna be looking for greener grass elsewhere. And I just don't want to go through that again. Again, not judging. It's just not for me.

I grew up in the UK and moved to California in '94. It was only supposed to be a 5 year stay, but events and life took a different turn and I ended up staying. I worked for a startup that managed to beat the odds, but also taught me that work and life need to go hand in hand, otherwise you get burnt out and disillusioned really fast. It was a great experience but I would never do it again.
My motto is live and learn, as long as you survive the event in question you can learn. Unfortunately sometimes to learn that does require getting burnt fingers, case in point: hiking and then seeing a wild boar with a family of piglets (boarlets?). A normal person would decide to turn the other direction so as not invoke the protective maternal traits of the boar. Despite my companion's objections, I decided to investigate. To cut a long story short, I found my inner Usain Buolt when I came close enough to see the snarling fangs of the wild charging boar. I am told that I looked like a gazelle being chased by a lion in the Serengeti, darting and weaving from side to side, however this gazelle escaped.
After the adrenaline died down and the heart stopped racing, the whole experience was quite enjoyable, it is ironic that you feel most alive when you are closest to death/injury. Now I know about wild boars.
Live shows: there is something about live shows, especially rock concerts that are a must in my life. I cannot accurately explain the reasons why and if I did, words would not be able to express the intensity of experience, but there is something that makes them almost mystical in nature. Maybe it is the environment where you are surrounded by people of commonality or the music's ability to not just envelope but also permeate you. It is almost as if you feel the music not just hear. Whatever it is, I am sure I have not seen my last concert. Memorable live shows have been; U2/Oasis, Counting Crows/Sheryl Crow, Nickelback, Coldplay and Massive Attack.
I like trying new things; rock climbing has been one of my tick items and can be seen in my profile pictures. This I did with my two sons and was surprised at how fast they and I managed to do something that initially seemed completely out of my league. I thrive on challenges and as it happens that trait can be found in my sons. Next up, hang gliding.

Some things that I have done are very memorable; met Steve Jobs, lived with 8 girls, improv comedy acting, worked with the FBI to put a hacker in jail, accomplished a technical feat that about only 5 people in the world have done, flown two helicopters, built a house, handled the worst date in history of dates with grace and civility, saved my son's life....twice.
Things I have learnt: Don't poke Karma. I was bragging with a friend that I have never broke a bone and must be some sort of super hero despite all the accidents I have been in.......next week while skiing, smashed, I mean smashed (exact word surgeon used) my wrist, this was the last run of the last day. Lesson learnt: if you poke Karma, it will come back at you with a vengeance and an extremely large medical bill.
