if you are still reading to this point, you are one of the kindest people on the planet. congratulations! obviously, i'm not good at describing myself. i'm from tokyo, a naturalized u.s. citizen since October 2003 (legally, no longer an alien?). i'm hopelessly shy and silly. i'm honest and reliable. i'm a geek, quiet, and somewhat awkward. i recycle. i donate my blood every eight weeks. i like cats (dogs, too). i like to cook. i like to make fresh pasta and sushi. i read science and sci-fi books. i watch food network, discovery channel, and netflix Blu-ray disc (or DVD) movies. NPR (Wait Wait, Car Talk, and of course, Science Friday). i'm curious almost about everything.
i like to play guitar, tennis, scrabble, ride my road bike. i like taking pictures (photography). i like a day trip to yosemite, beach, or anywhere. i can't (and don't) dance. i finished my first marathon, California International Marathon, in December 2009. i was just curious if i could actually finish a marathon. i found out i could but it took five and a half hours and i even had a calf muscle cramp for the first time around 22-mile mark! i used to my road bike a few times a week on American River Bike Trail (i guess i became too lazy to run). now i'm trying to find some nice bike trails here in the bay area (so far, San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail, Foothill, and Portola Valley are my favorites).

Moved to the bay area from San Diego a few months back for my new job and am getting to know the lay of the land here. This is such a nice place, like San Diego, though a bit different, since the ocean is far away from where I am :-). Professionally I am an engineer.
I enjoy the outdoors... try to go biking in the evenings. I enjoy watching movies (romance/comedy/drama/action), the theater, listening to music, channels in the bay area that I listen to are 96.5, 97.3, and sports. I like pets, though don't have one :-). I was raised in a big family i have 5 sisters and 1 brother. My Mom raised us herself and that's why i love and respect my Mom so much. I have always loved exercise and fitness and did my 1st bodybuilding competition when I was 15 yrs old and at 25 won the Mr. America title , Life was going well then a big challenge in life came my way.
Life's Challenge
In 1997 I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and in 2000 and I had to use a wheelchair. That made me depressed because one day I am Mr. America bodybuilding champion and then the next day I was in a wheelchair.
I remember saying to myself "Why me, why did i have to get MS?" in 2001 I got an answer to that question because I opened a wheelchair accessible gym called Accessible Fitness that specializes in fitness for people with physical challenges.
Because I began exercising again I do not have to use a wheelchair anymore and in 2006 my son talked me into competing in a bodybuilding competition again so I did it and walked on stage with my cane and to represent all of the people living with a physical challenge to show them that if they believe they can achieve their goals or as I tell the people at my gym :"If you Believe you can Move Mountains"

I enjoy Art and I like to visit all types of museums. sometime I like to stay home and watch a good movie.
I love to work hard but I also love to play! and I love being a father. I enjoy entertaining with family, friends, and children.
