I guess I would describe myself as a pretty relaxed guy who enjoys all types of activities. Anything from going to the gym, playing volleyball at the beach or biking sounds good to me. I think it's very important to stay as active and fit as you can. As for nightlife...although I can still do it and enjoy it on occasion, hitting the bars is really not a huge priority anymore. Instead, I live to go out for a nice meal followed with good conversation, coffee or a movie. Now that we're talking about eating...I really enjoy trying different foods and I'm probably the least picky eater you'll ever meet! BTW, having respect for others is important to me and I definitely expect it from the people in my life.Ideally, I would like to find someone who is down-to-earth, smart, witty and fun. Someone who would be alright with going out on the town or staying home for a great meal would be near perfect. I'm very attracted to women who don't take anything too seriously but run their lives responsibly...well at least most of the time. I love a good workout, not necessarily when I’m doing it since I’m probably gasping for air or want to pass out, but after you feel great and I love that my body’s still healthy enough for me to do so many active things, now I just have to keep it that way.

I’m learning to really like wine and especially Pinot Noir’s, a friend is a wine nut and is always bringing different wines to try and that got me hooked.

I'm a recent Ph.D. graduate in chemical and materials physics from UC Irvine, having spent the last five years there working on my degree. Currently I'm following up on my work and education with a post-doctoral research fellowship doing computational biochemistry - when this year is up I hope to land a nice job in the biotech / pharma industry (though I am keeping the professorship option open). Recently I had a brief interlude at an internet start-up in Santa Monica for five months - which gave me a lot of perspective on what I want to do in life: I returned to academia because it's a great lifestyle and I missed science and research too much!
So far life is much better. The last five years were pretty tough but now I can relax a little and have a little more fun, thus I'd like to get out and start dating again. Having more free time, I've been relaxing a lot, going to the beach and taking small trips. I also have a little dog, an Italian Greyhound named Bella (pictured), who I spend a lot of time with and take to the dog park. I'm an avid classical guitar player and have been practicing and playing more than ever (perhaps a second career?) and enjoy a lot of leisurely reading in my spare time. My family and I immigrated to the United States when I was fifteen years old. I entered the high school as a ten grade student. I was placed in the English as a second language class. Since I did not complete all the courses that the university required, I did not take the SAT exam. I had planned to study at the community college for two years and then transferred to the four year university. At the same time, I could save some tuition. As what I expected, I studied at the community college for two and a half years. During the time that I spent on the community college, I found out that I liked to do structural design for buildings. Therefore, I wanted to major in Civil Engineering with emphasis on structural and earthquake engineering design. I guessed that I was lucky enough to get accepted by the University of California at Berkeley. After staying there for five semesters, I had successfully got my Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
I live in city of Irvine right now. I like city of Irvine because the weather is pretty good over here. It is not hot in summer. And it is also not cold in winter. The air quality is good because it is close to the shore. I can feel the ocean breeze from the ocean.

In my leisure time, I like to do grocery shopping at the supermarket. I enjoy cooking at home. I also like to go outside to eat at the restaurant. The foods that like are Asian style food, American food, Italian food, and Mexican food.
