I grew up a country boy on an almond orchard, best thing ever cackling with my brother while running through what seemed at the time and infinite world of trees to play in. Funny, I didn't know at the time that because my father hoisted my little 5 year old frame atop a lawnmower mini-motorcycle and then let me rip through the orchard as fast as I could, that one day...I would be on TV doing exactly that.
When I first started skiing...My poor mother could not understand why I never would turn...I would always tuck in a ball like I had seen on TV and went straight down the mountain as fast as I could. I know, why put this on your profile? Well, that's me. Going for it. Whether it's a sport, a job, a relationship or anything...if I think I'm going to regret not at least "Trying", I go for it and really try with all my heart. Most of the time the most amazing things happen that you never would have expected? And that's the magic for me! Sometimes it goes surprisingly well, and sometimes it ends tragically.
For example, I tried the career thing for about 13 years. Got pretty good at it. I had everything most people want once (Fat income, hot start-up, house, blah blah blah...) and then I sold it all and bought a one way ticket to Brazil...with no plans. I ended up living in South America for over 2 years. Why? Just thought there has to be a better "way" and I had to find out for myself! I was right, but it was also nothing like I imagined or how I thought it was going to affect me either.
I've learned we only reveal our true selves when things get tough or end tragically. In fact, it's all the things that pummel our egos and challenge us to get back up that make us who we are good and bad. When everything goes sideways, you can't walk anymore, your leg is cut in half, arm half ripped off, you lost your job, you have to poop in a pan, the pain in your heart unbearable compared to the leg, but you can still make the supermarket check out person smile when spending your last couple of bucks on a bag of frijoles? I have many tough character building experiences like this...and grateful I had the chance to make myself a better person from them.
I'm fairly assertive, good to know because I'm the guy that if you cut in front of the line whether it's me or someone else, I'll say something, nicely though. And if you give me any lip, I'll "Do" something about it. When I witness a car accident, I'm usally the first one out of the car helping not watching. It's about doing the right thing...that's my gig. More often than not, doing the right thing isn't the thing we want to do either...interesting eh?
These days I like to cook, play the guitar, surf, sing, train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and get lost in great conversation with cool people. I'm not really doing the super crazy stuff anymore...I think that time has passed. But if you invited me to a 63 day adventure from Cairo to Cape Town next week, I'd be there in a heart beat:) I do bounce back and forth to S. America as it keeps me balanced. I'm in the middle of trying to set up a secondary gig down there. I make my own way through life here with a business I started...it's tough, but feels good to be doing it my way if that makes any sense?
And well, it would just be awesome to have that adorable, down to earth girl in the mix!

I am 38 year old divorced single man escaped from Belarus, the land of constant rain and aggressive people at the edge of nervous breakdown. So I finally got my shoulders relaxed and fists unclenched which is kind of great but I still have relapses now and then. That's why sometimes I'm getting all sarcastic, bitterly ironic and evil smile is wandering upon my lips. Go figure!
So in order of post-homeland therapy I tend to grab my bike without further notice and go places. I can also go grab my camera and spend couple hours shooting weird night scenes at freezing cold. Sometimes I drive to Watsonville to shoot 9-millimeter gun among fellow rednecks. And in winter I'm out there at Kirkwood skiing so don't try to find me in Santa Cruz on weekends Jan to March.
