I love languages and can get by in French and Spanish. Travel is a big part of my life; have been to Europe many times, Africa twice, Antarctica, but never Asia--I always seem to go back to France. The map business is a bit slow right now, and I spend most of my time managing and working on the ranch. I grow meyer and pink lemons that are marketed by Sunkist and I also grow avocados. I believe that the best vacation is to go somewhere opposite of where you live--since I live in a rural area (but 15 minutes from the beach and towns of 100,000 ) I love big cities, New York, London and Paris, which I know better than L.A. I've been to France twice for a month-long intensive French language school, living with French families, and a few years ago I rented an apartment in Paris for a month and just wandered around.
I was blessed with a good marriage that ended too soon. A major ah-ha moment for me was when I realized that I didn't need to win every argument or get my way every time. If it wasn't something truly, truly important to me I learned to let it go. I've been alone for many years, yet the lessons aren't forgotten.
