Date someone special from Glen Ellen, United States. Ok, the line is George Gershwin's but it works very well in this situation, The truth is that I have an really good life: I live in a beautiful place. I'm blessed with great friends and lots of interests and good health. I have a lot of curiosity about almost everything and try hard to be open to life's surprises. Quite by accident I fell into being the executive director of a local non-profit that I care about and love, but have not intention of working too long this time around. It's been my great good fortune to live outside of the U.S. for periods of time which sealed my fate as hopeless travel freak and am not very interested in getting a cure. However, so much that I have or am could be enhanced with a good man to share the road and the load and some love and companionship.
I'm afraid my SIGNIFICANT OTHER VISION isn't very original. It falls into Must Haves and Nice to Haves. Musts are a man who will have a good and kind heart, a zest for life and adventure and who is willing to love and be loved. He should require a good amount of laughing every day and moments of joy as well as expecting and providing quick wit and great conversation. He would need a Recommended Daily Allowance of Kissing and hugging. He'd want to go places we've never been before and learn more of the quirks of this world and whatever else suits our fancy. He would have causes he cares about and works for and has friends and interests of his own. He and I would have the chemistry between us to feel sexy and warm and loving. And last, dare I say it, doesn't snore - much.
For the Nice to Haves: The man of my vision is equally at home in jeans and something dressed up once in a while, who likes to get out and exercise and eat reasonably well but isn't a maniac about it. He might be coaxed into skinny dipping in my back yard or taking the occasional shower a deux. He likes to dance and still believes in the charm and seduction of romance. He likes to cook with someone else and entertain friends and is democratic about cleaning up. He appreciates a good glass of wine. He holds my hand in the movies and loves to read. He loves music that goes from Miles Davis to YoYo Ma to Motown to Gershwin to Etta James to Pavarotti to???????
The Nice to Haves are compiled in something of a vacuum and are subject to change, morphing into something or being dropped. The Must Haves? Well the name says it all
The bottom line is finding someone who would fit yet another of my favorite songs (yes, I know it's schmaltzy...)
"Wide awake I can make my most fantastic dreams come true,
My romance doesn't need one thing but you..."
