Date a woman from United States. I recently widowed after 45 years of marriage so I'm just trying out Match.com to see what happens. I come from a long line of teachers so I would probably be a fun friend for someone who likes conversation and interesting activities.
Meet someone special from United States. Peace, love and gratitude are my lifelong goals. Living simply, waste nothing, reduce unneeded consumption and treasure nature are my aims. I have no need or respect for conspicuous spending, flaunting possessions or acquiring more than you need. If these things are important to you, you're not for me.
Date a soulmate from United States. I'm smart, friendly and caring with a generous and loving heart. I've been through a lot of pain but still have a positive outlook. My friends are few but very important to me. My family is non traditional- I have 3 grown daughters, none biologically mine- yet we are closer than many biological families. I've been married twice, but I have lived alone most of my adult life. I have been blessed with several deep love relationships over my life and remain friends with all my exes who are still living. My last love died 2 years ago (he was 88) and I am ready to see what happens next. I know how to be alone without being lonely but would welcome a man as a friend, partner, and lover. I can do a LDR with the right person and am willing to relocate if necessary. I own a house in Medford OR and have thought of retiring there, but for health reasons, I would be better moving to a warmer place. My goal is to sell a house this spring and relocate to North County San Diego, but meeting the right man could change that. I am more of the country mouse but can enjoy life in the city or burbs because I will always be heading off to the coast, desert, or mountains for weekends or weeks of getting my "nature high".
I am grounded, relaxed, and have a quirky sense of humor. Honesty and open mindedness are important to me. My friends say I make them laugh. I am a natural woman, rarely wear makeup but enjoy getting dressed up for special occasions.( This past fall I went to Rocky Horror in full makeup and costume-French maid- and had a ball)
I am in decent financial shape and will be in very good shape when the real estate market revives. I know how to live very well without spending a fortune. I am generous and donate my money, time and talents to help others. I am ready to downsize my life, get rid of "things" and focus more on people and giving joy.
I love traveling and vacation 10 weeks or more/year. I spend 2 weeks in Cancun at Christmas with friends and family, spend a week or 2 in Kauai or Mexico with a dear friend who lives in Flagstaff. I go to Aruba with friends for 2 weeks most summers. This past year I also spent a week at Lake Arrowhead and took myself on a "geological field trip" to the Mammoth Lakes area and spent a week rock hounding in the Mojave desert, and a week in San Diego with my delightful 12 year old niece. I can travel by myself or with friends and family, but would also enjoy sharing my adventures with a friend/partner.
I am looking for someone who loves life as much as I do, someone who has learned to roll with life's punches and enjoy each day. I want a man who is not afraid to work hard on the emotional as well as the physical plane and who also likes to play. If I find someone special for the rest of my life, that would be fantastic, but I am also open to being a friend and sharing mutually enjoyed activities. The ideal man for me is intelligent, open, honest, fun loving, great sense of humor, still into personal growth, cute and cuddly(if a lover), flexible, artistic, handy, liberal and willing to take a risk. I promise to be the same, except I am not very handy.
Physically,I am not in great shape, but I am in great shape for the shape I'm in. Blood pressure is excellent, take no RX, but I have chronic osteoarthritis. I work out hard regularly in the pool, but walking is tough for me. It's frustrating because I used to be a fanatic walker and dancer, but hope that this will be easier when I get my new knees. I can take short hikes when necessary(like getting to Devil's Postpile last summer) but I pay for it for a day or two. But in spite of my physical challenges, I am very active. I have lost over 30 lbs since Dec (and plan to keep it up until I reach my goal), and that has made me more able to get about- I'm ready to start dancing again! But I will always be zaftig, so if thin is important to you, that's not me.
