I like the simple pleasures in life like waking to the sounds of birds chirping, smelling coffee brewing, a good morning hug. I'm compassionate, can be serious sometimes, funny, romantic, sentimental, practical, spontaneous and always caring, loyal and fun loving. I'm semi-retired, and love the freedom of working when I want to. I enjoy hiking, don't mind getting my hands dirty working in a garden or doing a home project. I'm attempting watercolor as a new hobby, walking the beaches and parks, volunteering, and I'm taking an acting class which I love. I live my life in the now and enjoy every day as much as possible.
My greatest joy in life has been being a mother. I love the fact that they are happy and successful living lives they enjoy. We see eachother often since we are only an hour away. They live in Oakland and they like coming to Sebastopol to enjoy the country and whenever I need a city "fix" we go into SF together.
I went to college as a middle-aged mom. On graduation day, my three children put a sign on my car saying "Just Graduated" and decorated it with balloons. That was one of the most memorable days of my life! After 10 years of college part time while raising the kids, I got my art history degree. I worked in a North Carolina art museum and also in a Massachusetts college before moving to CA. I am energetic and definitely have a zest for life.
Conversations that allow us to "dig deeper" into what we are about are always important to me. I also enjoy telling jokes, although I'm usually the listener and the one who laughs first, since I usually don't remember them to tell to others.
I'd love to meet that perfectly imperfect man to enjoy life with. Whether it's going out for an evening or a cozy day or night at home, my goal is to have an exciting and peaceful time. You do any of the following: spend time outdoors, love going to art shows, dancing to great music, farmers markets, concerts, yoga, hiking, volunteering, canoeing, helping friends, cooking and hopefully introducing me to many new things to enjoy that I haven't tried yet.

I also love just being at home enjoying life, no deep conversation required. I value flexibility, and I believe that people need to accept one another as they are, 100%'; but I also know we're all human and our frailties can be part of our beauty. I love animals, though I prefer cats to dogs I have loved some amazing dogs in my lifetime. I don't currently have pets. And I'm much better at describing myself in person than in writing.
