Date single man from Monterey, United States. So here I am on Match. To be honest, I'm not sure what will come out of this, but if at worst I make some new friends then it will be worthwhile. If by chance I meet someone very special, than that's just icing on the the cake :).
So who am I? I would describe myself as a very laid back man who is extremely passionate about life and all it has to offer. I wasn't always like this, but when I was 25 I moved overseas and spent almost fifteen years travelling and living all over the world. During my travels I've learned how fortunate I am and that this world is full of amazing and diverse individuals. I've lived in London (two times in fact), Tokyo, Sydney, NYC, and Southern California. I love to travel and to date have visited over 25 countries. My favorite places are Argentina, Uruguay, Greece, and Australia. My bucket list of new places to visit includes South Africa, Turkey and Morocco.
I moved to Monterey about five years ago from Southern California, and I've been told that I have a "So Cal vibe." Not sure how to describe it other than I am very down to earth, centered, love the beach, and you will more often than not find me in flip flops and jeans. I have been successful in my career but my work does not define who I am.. I certainly am one who believes that "I work to live" and "I don't "live to work."
The qualities which are most important to me with regards to myself and my friends are integrity, honesty, and authenticity. I don't go a day without remembering these qualities and they drive my daily decisions and how I treat others. I would describe my personality as laid back and easy going, but I warn you I do have a wicked and dry sense of humor :).
I am extremely passionate about music. You will find with my iPod on at work, around the house, working out, pretty much everywhere. I primarily listen to Alternative, both new (i.e., Cults, Jack White, Mutemath, The Bravery, The Lonely Forest), and old (i.e,. The Smiths, Pixies, Love and Rockets, Bahaus), Alternative Rock (i.e., Breaking Benjamin, Tool, 10 Years, 32 Leaves), and what I would call soulful woman (ie., Florence and The Machines, Lana Del Rey, Mazzy Star). I will attend a concert any chance I get. Unfortunately there aren't many concerts in Monterey, so it is not uncommon for me to go San Francisco, Vegas, or LA to go see a band.
I am a big fan of Comedy and for me the more sarcastic and dry the better. Comedy Central is definitely on my DVR list and although I don't watch a lot of television, I've probably seen every episode / stand-up of South Park, Daniel Tosh, Bill Maher and Margaret Cho. I recenlty saw Bill Maher and Daniel Tosh live.
I am pretty active and workout pretty much everday. When I don't work out I just feel a bit "off-center." As you can guess I am not one who likes to sit around the house all day. I've tried to instill this value with my children who are now all teenagers and our typical vacations include snowboarding in Tahoe or surfing in Southern California.
In my spare time I play poker locally and in Las Vegas. I play in the World Series of Poker every year.
