Love to go for day long hikes by the seashore or thorough the mountains (Big Sur, Yosemite) or thought urban canyons (SF, Amsterdam, Prague)? Always interested in what may be over the next hill or around the next corner? No destination, no schedule and no limits?
Love to touch, hold hands, walk arm in arm, hug and cuddle? A long walk, a casual dinner and a long cuddle while watching old movies would be a great day!
Care about family and friends? My greatest goal in life right now is to help my daughters live their dreams. My oldest is in med school and my youngest is about to start grad school. And I have a group of friends that I have known for more then 30 years. We still talk regularly and visit as often as we can.
Love the planet and love to help through volunteering? I have been a long term volunteer at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and get there at least once a week.
Love animals? I volunteer at the SPCA wildlife center, but my apartment prevents me from having any pets, (dogs rule!), for the first time in a long time.
Love nature? Besides getting outdoors every chance I get, I have about 40 plants in my apartment; partly because I enjoy plants and partly as a substitute for a pet.
Enjoy small groups where everyone is part of the same conversation? More than 8 people is a mob, not a party. But I do love to get together with friends and almost any excuse will do.
Love to travel to specific destinations? Right now I’m into archeology sites (Machu Picchu, Angkor Wat, the Terracotta Army) and nature (Costa Rica, Dominica or really any tropical island). But European cities are also great (lots of history) and Africa was, well, interesting!
Are you a visual person? I like many types of movies but I relax to old 60s Sci Fi movies like “The Forbidden Planet”, “Them” and “War of the Worlds”, comedies, (Love Monty Python!), animated movies and serious movies like “The Reader” and “Hugo”. I enjoy reading, but read mostly for relaxation. I love Sherlock Holmes and hard science fiction. I do love to learn new things, but I get plenty of exposure to new science from the Aquarium and from science programs on the History Channel, H2 and other science shows.
If you are still reading, I am really an easy going, tolerant person, but I do have some limits that might be a turn off for you...
Do you have more then 50 friends on your Face Book page? (Why do you have a face book page? I have one because my daughters do and it helps to keep in touch with them.) I am slow to form friendships and have a smaller circle of truly special friends, many that I have known for more than 30 years. I treasure each and stay in close touch. How so you stay in touch with 50 people?
Do you take more then one suitcase when you travel? I am a casual person. At home I live in jeans and dress casually when I travel. I do enjoy concerts and love dining at nice restaurants, but if you like to play dress up, I’m not your guy.
