Date a soulmate from California, United States. I don't think a perfect anything exists so let's be real about this. Who i'm looking for is a lady with a brain, humility and a sense of self. A good sense of humor is a must as I try to laugh at all of life's funny twists and turns. I'm looking for a best friend, playmate and partner. You know ,the person you talk to on the phone late at nite and text between bart trains. Friends describe me as the calm one, steady as a rock ,your all around good guy. Heck, one of my friends wanted me to date his sister but I balked at that one. God knows what this cyber dating world holds for me but you don't know untill you go for it. If there is a lady that I can compliment her life and she mine hopefully this will be the path to it.
Meet someone special from California, United States. I have been a student virtually my whole life and I am now starting my "adult" life - so I am somewhat in transition socially, financially, and in lifestyle. I work and hangout with a lot of young, active, fun people, but am looking for someone more "age appropriate" to spend time with. That could be just friends, but I am also looking to start a new romantic/sexual relationship.
I am a small town boy. I like that there is so much to do in the Bay Area (music, food, culture), but I spend very little time in the city and prefer to get away from people and traffic when I can. My ideal weekend includes getting out into nature rather than hitting the clubs.
My hometown was like a Normal Rockwell painting - beautiful New England landscapes and kids playing sports in the backyard. I miss the northeast, especially autumn and all my family lives there, but am happy to have lived in some great places. After going to school in the Pacific Northwest I worked in Hawaii, living in native rainforest on an active volcano. But despite the beauty and slow pace of life I needed more intellectual stimulation and went back to school for a PhD studying insects (but don't think I am the stereotype of a nerdy scientist). I feel fortunate that I love what I do today as much as I did when I took my first entomology class many years ago. It doesn't hurt that my work has taken me all over the Pacific Ocean looking for undiscovered species!
I enjoy meeting new people and can usually find something interesting to talk about with almost anyone. I don't mind being the center of attention if I am playing guitar/singing or giving a presentation, but prefer intimate one-on-one conversations. I can be easily coerced into having fun, or if I see that you are too shy I can be the instigator. The times I enjoy most are tide pooling, hiking in the woods, or camping. I am generally pretty active and enjoy playing all kinds of sports, though I don't really watch much sports anymore. I imagine most people think I am very serious and intellectual. But those who know me best will tell you I am funny, thoughtful, kind, and generous. I can enjoy with equal enthusiasm staying home watching a movie, conversation at a bar or coffee shop, or a dinner party with friends. I am also a 'productive procrastinator' - it is amazing how much I accomplish when I am avoiding doing other work.
I like a woman who feels at home in jeans and a sweat shirt, but also likes to put on her 'little black dress' once in a while. She is outdoorsy and likes to explore. She enjoys thoughtful, spirited debate, but like me, does not take herself too seriously. I like to learn from others and am attracted to those who pursue their own creative/artistic expression. It is OK if she does not like to cook because I like to, but I would also be happy as the sous chef if that meant learning to prepare new cuisines. And liking animals is a must.
I am not looking to fill a hole in my life - I quite enjoy my life. I do not feel a need to be in a relationship, I just want to be. Also, I like kids and have a lot of fun with them, but I probably do not want to have any of my own. Which is kind of a shame, because I think I would probably be a great dad. I also find pouring through profiles on Match exhausting. So don't be afraid to make the first move.
