Recently, while walking with my dog near the Monterey harbor one lazy Sunday morning, I noticed some sea nettles and large kelp crab munching on some greens, both near the walk way. Both of these observations are not common occurrences. I spent several minutes watching each of these discoveries, many people walked by and never stopped to notice or ask what I was looking at.
I realized there were very few profiles that included a description of a unique observation, such as watching the pelicans skimming the water, chuckling when crows start yanking at you as you walk by or listening to a group of acorn woodpeckers chattering in the morning or maybe noticing some interesting landscaping that you had not seen before.

OK, back to the activities; maybe a movie, a bowling outing, might be fun to hit some golf balls at the driving range in Del Rey Oaks. At my age [and yours] I would hope we would be able to sort through or be in-touch enough to know the difference between a �crush’ versus just some nice chemistry, which might suggest intimacy does not have a time frame.
For me, an attractive feature will be some college education and awareness, interest and opinions on the many complex issues that confront us living in the USA, while working with worldwide partners to find solutions. Political and environmental progressive thoughts are good along with a willingness to banter a bit. Realizing we might come to conclusion that agreeing to disagree is OK. Validating each others perspective is a healthy behavior.
I have a couple of kids, both are young adults. The older of the two, my daughter, is married.,and just gave birth to my grandchild a boy, Dad thinks she is too young to be married, but realize if her mother and I have done a good job with our guidance in the early years, her happiness is the most important factor. The younger one, aka son, has no eminent engagement and has his education as a focus. Don’t get to see them as much as I would like, so having a playful partner/companion could act as a model when they get old and the joints creak a bit.
