Date someone special from Davis, United States. I spent my twenties living in various countries of the global south (India, Nepal, Thailand, Ecuador, Bolivia, etc.), hiking the Himalayas, learning Sanskrit on the Ghats of Benares, and reading German philosophy. Despite the wandering, I still managed to finish graduate school, convincing at least a few that I was worthy of a doctorate. Coming out of graduate school, I caught some lucky breaks and managed to get two exceptional faculty appointments (the first at NYU and the second here at UC Davis). In short, I found myself living the daydream every grad student hopes for but few are lucky enough to stumble upon. I still find it hard to believe that I get paid to travel, read books, and talk about philosophy. In the last few years I settled into what feels like a very blessed life adding some of the trappings of American domesticity. I bought a broken down house and basically rebuilt it from the ground up. I had a child and I learned to appreciate just how fertile the Sacramento valley can be--growing lots of vegetables and more than 30 varieties of Dahlia (some of which have blooms that are more than 18 inches across).
But life has a funny way of reminding us that whatever we have is a gift and not an entitlement; nothing remains the same. To make a long story short, I find myself single. After many months of being alone, I am now ready to dip my toes into this crazy online dating world. I’m not ready to be married again, but I am also not looking lots of anonymous amorous adventures. I don’t believe in soul mates, but I do believe in mutually fulfilling partnership.
I am looking for someone who is adventurous, curious, and who is more turned on by ideas than cartoonish muscles. I'm also looking for someone who thinks monogamy is desirable. Maybe I’m old-fashioned, but I don’t think it is a vestige of repressed libidos that we can shed like a medieval superstition.
Meet single man from Davis, United States. I am a 37 year old Costa Rican Native. I am in good shape and active. I would like to meet someone who is positive and happy, who has good friends and enjoys being outside. I have a stable job with the school district that allows me time to enjoy the outdoors. So come camp ready.
I like to sing and play guitar for my friends, crack open a beer, play pool, and have a happy night. I am pretty laid back and have a good sense of humor.
I love to travel and have ambitious plans to see the world. I been to many countries, including England, Germany, Belgium, Holland,Italy, Austria, Spain, France, and many countries in Central America. I work to play hard and would love a travel partner and someone to share the experience with.
