I'm kind of a "happy dog"--up for most everything from culture, to quiet evenings at home, to socializing with friends, to attending some new learning experience. I love my work, which has me meeting and interacting with new and fascinating people every day, and am in the midst of writing a second book about how people change. The material can be a bit obtuse at times so am including quotes like: “Change is inevitable - except from a vending machine.”
I used to be involved in fairly hard core adventure activities: climbing, mountaineering, canyoneering, and so on. These days, while I still love being outdoors, my main interests are in skiing, backpacking, sailing and river running. I’m very committed to exercise—especially combining exercise with being outside--and hope that whatever woman I meet will feel that way too. Inner exploration has been just as important as outer adventure so I’ve had lots of experiences at workshops, retreats, and trainings and I’m still seeking new places to grow and learn. Finally, I still have a 10 year old at home (the other is over 18) who is with me half-time. They have a good mother, so I don't need help in that area, but any long term relationship would have to be with someone who liked being with children.
Being on the “wrong” side of 50 has had a nice impact on me in terms of prioritization and seizing the moment. I still work hard and have lots of things on my plate but I’ve become very ready to drop a day of work because a friend is in town, or add another week or two of vacation a year. Being close, having fun, learning something, stretching the limits—that’s what matters to me now.
