My friends, aside the lining up at the roast, describing me in the most positive of lights, would tell you that I am easy going, principled, strong willed, balanced, reliable, university educated (thank you GI Bill,US Army, medical corpsman), athletic, optimistic, generous, and that my side burns are grayer this year. I’m a native of the Napa Valley, and carry my 60 years well, make my home in the vineyards where I have lived all my days, and am a successful viticulturist. After spending nearly five truly wonderful years in Oregon I am returning to CA in April 2012. Over the course of the last few years I’ve skied the Colorado Rockies (Telluride, Crested Butte, Aspen, Beaver Creek), Wyoming's Teton's, the Sierra’s, fulfilled a dream with a heli-ski experience and have returned again for more untracked runs. Passing time has me pondering a three peat, but still, I possess a particular fondness for Utah's Alta. During the summer's weekend's you will find me taking an all to rare long weekend at the cabin in Tahoe, or improving a still suffering golf game. I also enjoy tailgate parties before a Niner's game (LONG time faithful here) and concerts, as well as the buzz and excitement of more formal occasions. While I have not married and have no children of my own, I am blessed with 14 nieces and nephews who are a great joy. My friendships are loyal, deeply cherished, and scattered over a diverse and entertaining group. Packed inside a 175#, 5' 9 frame that moves with the grace of an athlete is a large heart, a fine sense of humor colored by hazel eyes and graying temples (racing stripes).

I'm a second generation American and I enjoy our American way of life. I have many interests, and like doing many things. I won't delve into all of them right now, but I will share some of the major ones with you.
When I can, I enjoy a weekday or weekend getaway, camping, and have just taken up photography. I like watching a good movie on the big screen, or the smaller one at home, or maybe just taking a nice walk. I love music, a nice dinner out, and doing a little cooking myself. I'm, a 50-50 guy. Meaning I'm a homebody to an extent, and yet I'm a person who likes to get out and do things as well. I take pleasure in antique and art gallery's, or walking barefoot along the ocean's shore. Reading is entertaining too. I have a great interest in the American Civil War and love American history. I've been to Gettysburg and was awestruck. When i was younger I traveled to England, Wales, Spain, France and Ireland the enchanted isle. I traveled both the west and east coasts of our country and enjoyed it all! These days I pretty much limit my travels to California and Nevada.
I'm fun and easy going, love to laugh. I'm also a romantic man with the woman I care for, and love to hold hands, kiss, and say and do endearing things for that special lady. Maybe cuddle on the sofa catching a good film, reading, or just having a nice conversation. Or maybe take a ride up to Quincy for lunch on a sunny day.
I love many different types of music. My favorite country music is the Zac Brown Band, in rock it has been and always will be the Rolling Stones, and the late Luciano Pavarotti sends shivers down my spine when I hear recordings of him sing an aria!
I think I am a kind man and open to most new things and experiences. I have two wonderful adult children who live away. I wish I could see them more frequently!

This is not to say that I do not appreciate the simple things in life.
