Since childhood I’ve been making up recipes, enjoying new foods, entertaining friends and family with my creations. I also love to golf...in fact these days I would rather do that than drink wine; take vacations of both the active, touring around Europe/Asia variety and the margarita/Mai Tai on the beach kind; read anything and everything from newspapers to food magazines to novels; and experience the symphony, museums, and the theater. Also, enjoy outdoor activities, exercise 4-5 days a week, day/weekend excursions, travel near and far, and meeting up with friends. Professionally I practiced corporate law for many years, then left first to do mergers and acquisitions in Silicon Valley and now in financial services. The law life taught me a lot about reading and understanding people, balancing work/life/play/relationships, laughing at the absurd, appreciating different points of view, compromising -- all things I’ve found make me a better person in my non-work life. Being physically active is very important to me. The person I’m looking for is at least moderately fit and active. Someone with a good social life is a definite plus. One of my passions is hiking. The only thing required is a trail with a beautiful view. Pretty basic!
Personally, I am very comfortable in the gym. Weight training is a great stress relief for me and, Hey, I even did the Zumba class! I must be honest and admit I only did it once. It’s fast, hard and the aerobic conditioning is just a killer.
Moderate drinking is ok (I will socially drink occasionally) but the smell of cigarette smoke just doesn’t do it for me.
What am I proud of? I am the first one in my family to attend and graduate from college. My father was a cab driver and died when I was 5, so food and shelter was the priority. College wasn’t even on the radar. But, I worked nights in the grocery store and received scholarships for grades and made it through. Since then, all the younger generation of my family, including my daughter, has attended at least some level of college. We even have 2 RN’s and an attorney in the group. Of course, it can always be debated as to whether the attorney is an asset.
Classic cars and racing are big interests. Both of my older brothers were stock car and drag racers. As the baby brother, I got all the good jobs, like sweeping the shop, fetching tools and car parts. Etc. But it created some great memories, and is probably why I enjoy my 57 Chevy so much.
I own a home on the golf course and enjoy doing my own yard work. But I must admit, while I am generally a neat person, my cleaning lady is indispensable. My career is still a big portion of my life but I’ll be transitioning into retirement in the next couple of years. I’ll probably still work some as long as I still enjoy the profession.
Hopefully, you are in a similar phase of your life and share similar interests. Relationships are, in my opinion, built on understanding, passion, honesty and compromise. I’m very open to trying new things in life.

Several months ago,I decided to get away so, for a close getaway went to Solvang. It was beautiful.Enjoyed wine tasting. Then a short walk to the Chocolate Factory,almost a mistake.But ended up taking some home to my Parents they really enjoyed that I shared my getaway with them.The upcomming month The Topanga Canyon Inn.It was relaxing up so high my cell phone had no connection. The stars were so close it was like short reach to touch them. I wanted to stay close to home this weekend, and the Inn was a short drive to get out of town for a little while.Sometimes Las Vegas calls out,I enjoy getaways and it doesn't have to be on a weekend,any time is fine with me.
