Meet someone special from United States. So, obviously, I'm not quite ready yet to go totally live, to post pictures or to start communicating. This (like me and all of the rest of us, if I may say so) is a work in progress - the early stages is how I'm feeling about it right now.
Then, I decided, why not post right here, out in the open, the stuff that I'm writing/the drafts that I'm working with as I try to figure out how best to express myself here. Sound a little obcessive or perfectionistic? Well, maybe it is. Or maybe it's just the way I'm going to enjoy the early part of this process.
In the interest of perspective please keep in mind everything I'm writing in these sections is true at least it's true at the moment that I write it. But, this is not like Venus being born fully adult and beautiful from the head of Zeus. If only, right? Also, some of the basic/statistical/personal ID info is a little off the mark; it will be corrected when I'm ready to post pictures and start communicating.
That all having been said and on the perhaps unlikely assumption that you even care anymore, here we go.
The Bsd - Things are not always as they seem. An observation that probably goes without saying on a dating site. On the other hand, I tend to treat what we could easily call the disappointments as if they were entertaining surprises - little vignettes that are really harmless and which give us glimpses of (sometimes omitted from our profiles) aspects of the human condition.
The Good - It’s way too easy to forget that “things aren’t always as they seem” has plenty of room for the delightfully surprising, too. The stuff about each other that we would never have guessed and which we find out only when we meet or after a few face-to-face conversations. Somewhere along the line (we all hope) there will be the surprise that will make us want to come back for more. And more.
Might I be that kind of surprise for you? And you for me?

I have lived with Golden Retrievers, usually 2 at a time, for so long (since 1960) that in many ways, I think I may have become one, myself. This is a good thing. Plus, I don't shed.
I had a 25 year long career/avocation/love affair with flying that was almost beyond magical. I don’t concede much and not very easily to the consequences of aging but, over the course of a couple of years, I found that I was loosing some of the edge, mental sharpness, intense and unremitting focus that I want the pilot of any aircraft I’m traveling in to have. FAA said that I was good to go and so did my doc. But, I knew better and so, I made the call because I have only one *.
I have big time needs to give and to receive loving - to listen and to understand, to be heard and to be understood.

The qualities that I am most looking for in a Life Mate are as follows: A Woman who is a Good Listener with Good Common Sense, who knows her own mind; goes after it! My leisure time is spent as follows: Gardening, Refurbishing my 4 BR/2.5 Bath, 2 Story Ventura Beach Home, Master BR has View of the Anacapa Islands and Ocean (My Ventura Beach Home is approx. 450 Feet above Sea Level - near Ventura College).
I have taken the year 2012 off from my normal Profession, so I can concentrate on refurbishing; updating my Home in Ventura – as it is very time consuming! In addition, three quarters of the work on my Home, I am doing myself. I enjoy working with my hands, as I do an excellent job – even if I do say so myself! I have always been quite proficient at refurbishing and updating Real Estate!
I enjoy the following: Cooking, Dancing, Traveling, Cruise Ships, Investing, Movies, Plays, Seminars, Lectures, Etc. Besides, spending quality time with the future one I love!
I have a lot to offer my Future Wife - besides laughter, so all She needs to figure out, is what She has to offer Me in return!
Added information: Accept for my Wisdom Teeth, (removed due to not enough room) I have all my original Teeth and never experienced any Cavities! That should tell you something about my Health for my Age, which I have already stated is just a number!
The Program Nature on P.B.S – TV: shows that the African Female Elephant will only Mate with the Oldest Male Bull Elephants, because they have already proven themselves capable of Survival (Genetics) – that is how Mother Nature works! In addition, Children born to Older Fathers have increased Telomere Lengths on their Genes - and an increased Lifespan!
To be honest with you, I am personally looking for Beauty on the inside as well as Beauty on the outside. In My lifetime of experiences with Women, I have come across many Beautiful Shells with no substance, and that is definitely, what I am "NOT looking for!" This is why I decided to try Match.com, to see if I might have better luck in finding My Soul Mate! Statistically: Women have a higher divorce rate with Taller Men, than with average Height Men! Sorry Women, but approximately only 10% of Men are over 5’ 9” tall! Women who marry Older Men have fewer divorces, than Women who marry Younger Men!
If Mr. Donald Trump can marry a Women 30 yrs. younger than he is and have Children with her, than I see no reason why I can't do the same, or younger with an older mentality!
