Date someone special from United States. I'm basically a very shy guy who's finding it kind of difficult to "sell" myself. I've been putting this off for much too long and my son says that I should go for it and get out of the house once in a while. I'm not a "man about town", I'm much more comfortable in the safety, I guess of my own home. I do not like the bar scene and you won't find me hanging out there. I gave that up many years ago. no point in it. Now about me, I don't really enjoy talking about myself, but I guess I really do need to let you know something about me. I'm a down home born again country cajun boy. Born and raised in Mississippi, graduated from Millsaps College in 1968. I came to San Diego in 1970 in the Navy and would up staying. I'm not a shirt and tie guy, in fact, I do not own a suit. Don't hold that against me, that's just my personal choice. I do own ties, but most of them have to do with cartoons celebrating holidays. I'm more comfortable in my jeans, cargo pants, Hawaiian shirt, western shirt or boots (maybe with my western hat once in a while). I'm a very comfortable guy. I'm not really fond of pretentious restaurants that charge an unseemingly amount for a well presented meal, but with not much substance. I'm more into the "diners, driveins and dives" class of establishments. I'm a good basic menu kind of cook, love to try new recipes and cook all my own meals. I love to barbecue and smoke various meats on my back porch. I love having a group of people over to enjoy my brisket, tritip or even my home, the more people, the better. I've become a pretty good cook over the last 7 or 8 years. So much so, that my wife, before the cancer took her a year and a half ago, had pretty much stopped cooking so she could enjoy my creations!!. I'm very much a homebody and own my home (well, at least the bank and I share ownership). I love to share a meal and a glass of wine or two here with someone special, then curl up by the fireplace or on the couch enjoying a movie. I enjoy the simple things in life, they have become more and more special as time goes by. I don't have a lot, but then again, I don't want or need a lot, just someone to share it with. It does get kind of quiet around here with only me and my two cats. I'm not a morning person until I have a couple of cups of coffee, but I do love the quiet mornings and beautiful sunrise over the mountains. I enjoy a sunset from anywhere. and I do enjoy a walk on the beach, in the mountains or in the woods. I love camping and I'm getting ready to get back into fishing. I love going to the desert to enjoy the peace and solitude. It's wonderful there. Although I don't have one now, I am planning to get a "teardrop" type trailer sometime in the future to spend sometime seeing parts of this country that, until now, I have not been able to see or visit. My Mother and southern past have taught me well. I have always treated ladies with respect, the way they should be. I'm the kind of guy who holds open doors, stands up when a lady enters ther room, listens and pays attention when she talks and provide a strong shoulder to lean on when necessary. And I always put the toilet seat down!! Basically, I'm a down home kind of guy who enjoys treating lades with the utmost respect and love they deserve. I am most definitely not into playing games!! I am not the most handsome guy in the world, but neither do I look like an "Orc". I am just your basic average "good guy" who's not an embarassment to be with. I have to get some new pictures to upload, but the one here now is abou two years old, just as I started my exercising and weight loss. I am now down from 245 to 200 pounds, losing 45 pounds in the last year. I now walk briskly 2 miles a day and ride my bike two miles a day, getting healthier by the day.
Maybe a coffee could get us going.
