Date single man from Homeland, United States. In 1997, I "retired" from a 29-year career in retail management, took a few years off, studied law and made a midlife career change to that profession. I enjoy stimulating conversations (not small talk), good books and road trips. I am politically liberal, fairly intelligent (I think) and open-minded. My sense of humor is dry, my personality is reserved (at least initially) and my self-esteem is intact. My aesthetic tastes are varied; I enjoy museums of all types, good movies (which I know is subjective) and my musical tastes are eclectic. I am never too old to learn, and I strive to learn something each day. I enjoy, and am perfectly at ease, with my own company, but I feel life is more fulfilled if one's experiences can be shared. I dislike egocentric people, snobs, close-mindedness and bad grammar (and have been guilty of all). I would have liked to have written The Great American Novel or to have played second base for the Los Angeles Dodgers (or both). I do not take myself serious except when I am (an oxymoron?). I am an authority on nothing but know a little about much. (And did I mention I over-use parenthesis?)
Unless you are truly being honest in how you portray yourself (most of you have your cup half-full, and really, doesn't everyone have some sort of drama and baggage (that's what life is!) please do not message me (come on gals, get creative in your message, show your personality!). If you are outside of the Southern California region, likewise. No picture of yourself, no response from me. Those of you wearing your religion on your sleeve, please look elsewhere. Finally, to all of you charming ladies of a certain age, I am flattered you may wish to send me a message, but please do so only if your age is somewhere in the Baby Boomer range (it's a matter of common ideals, not age). Otherwise, with all due respect, let us not waste each other's time. Now, for the one or two of you who are still with me, Hi!
Thank you.
P.S. I am originally from the Los Angeles area (beach cities), my adopted home is San Francisco and did time in Texas, too (no, not jail time, in case you wonder).
P.P.S. So far on this site, I have counted 1563 women who "like to walk on the beach." Must be a pretty crowded beach!
Thanks again.
Meet a man from Homeland, United States. Happy, kind, fun, loyal, busy, intellegent. I want to find someone who can be a friend and fun. I love the beach, mountains swimming, dancing. I play the guitar. What they heck else can I say. Gee.
