Meet single man from Palo Alto, United States. Scientist, engineer, musician, amateur buddhist, professional father (she is now 22 and almost on her own, sortof), amateur horticulturalist and cook. I'm joyful, energetic, curious, passionate. I hope to find mutual laughter, mutual attraction, shared purpose, and kindred spirit.
Satisfaction is elusive without music, sunshine, dark chocolate and laughter. The Buddha says that desire is the causation of (emotional) suffering... although that's not all that is involved (fear, anger, etc all are related)... and that suffering ceases when desire ceases. He says much more than that, of course. But one can purchase chocolate (I make a decent amateur truffle), sunshine is free, and I can make music; but laughter.... the best laughter is shared. Although I have occasionally awakened in the middle of the night because a dream was too funny, I wander through this DreamTime (Australian primitive myth) hoping to wake up again with laughter that is shared.
The cat thinks I'm funny. My house is blue. Roses are Red, here's looking at You!
Date a man from Palo Alto, United States. Who am I? Well, I'm always funny; sometimes shy/sometimes gregarious, always curious and very energetic native San Franciscan. (Yes, I know I'm not smiling broadly or laughing in the photos-- that's just the shyness comng out :)) I'm down-to-earth; though talkative , a good listener, too; great sense of humor; creative; and someone with eclectic taste in friends and in the arts. I'm an adventurer; risk-taker; and have traveled extensively; I'm fit--swim and lift weights regularly, and love to dance-- in fact would like to become a better salsa dancer. As to work-- I'm television/radio writer/director, have also been a columnist and magazine writer; and concert producer. Love pets-- have had two husky/shepherd mixes and almost ready to get another dog. I'm a terrific cook who enjoys a quiet meal and conversation whether at home or dining at an intimate, non-trendy restaurant. And, like virtually all of us, I enjoy movies, music, and quiet time to nurture and be supportive. I'm looking for that delicate balance between being myself (retaining my identity) while savoring and thoroughly enjoying being a couple. Though I don't have kids of my own, I have taught both high school and elementary grades. Because I miss not having a family or teaching, I would especially like to meet someone who has and enjoys spending time with their children or grand kids; someone who's ready for a relationship and is not afraid to be vulnerable; someone who enjoys surprises and is nurturing (and of course wants me to reciprocate. Most importantly, I'm looking for someone to grow with, to learn from, and as corny as this is, a woman who wants a best friend and lover. A great sense of humor and a good story teller would be a key ingredient; a reader and lover of the arts, especially music and movies, and someone who likes discovering unique ethnic cuisine. I'm looking for an independent woman who knows who she is and stands up for it; someone who enjoys traveling and eating (especially Italian); enjoys music-- concerts, clubs, and dancing; enjoys kids and pets. Someone who's sensual, passionate and enjoys public displays of affection; does lots of little things to surprise the people she cares about; someone who is as comfortable staying at home as spending time with friends. A woman who looks forward to taking day/weekend trips to continue to nurture intimacy, by talking as well as by being physical.
