Sunsets on the beach, wine tasting in Livermore, Gilroy or the Santa Cruz mts. movies, playing golf, hiking the Bay area. Family and friends are important to me. I don't need a group of people to liven up my life, a glass of wine, smooth jazz and a good book, or what ever. Traveled throughout the Far East(retired military) enjoyed all of it. Have not been to europe yet, that's my next area to explore.

Meet single man from United States. Hopefully, the majority of my profile pictures show me as somewhat playful. At least that’s what I’m trying to portray. Of course, there’s a serious side to me. Unfortunately, sometimes I’m serious when I should be playful and sometimes playful when I should be serious. Most of the time I get it right, but not always. Hopefully, I’ll get it right when we go to coffee or on a hike when we first meet. After that, I make no promises other than to try to be appropriately playful or serious, depending upon the circumstances and situation.
There are two words that resonate within me and help define how I interact with the world. Those two words are kindness and dignity. I'm not sure if the "dignity" isn't part of the "kindness" but I do believe that you treat everyone in a way that doesn't diminish their dignity. That guides my interactions, even those that are not pleasant. Kindness is shown in various ways...opening my house to organizations, taking friends out & celebrating special days or taking the edge off difficult days, charitable efforts, treating people with dignity. I sometimes fall short of my ideal (gossip?) , but then I whip myself with a piece of wet spaghetti and try to get back on the wagon.
I am a young 65 year old male. I am financially secure and mostly retired. I keep active and fit by mostly hiking and leading hikes for the Sierra Club. I am a part time biker. I love to travel and would love to have a travelling companion. I will travel anywhere. My female friends tell me I have an ability to sense peoples' feelings and read many social situations with insight. I have a good sense of humor and like to make situational jokes in conversation, sometimes they border on the corny. I dabble in the work force as a self-employed tax consultant but this is seasonal and not all-consuming during the tax season. I have a strong belief that we need to give back to those areas we take from and do volunteering on some Boards. I am on the board of my local professional society . My religion helps define me but I am not particularly religious or observant. I don't know if I have an image of an ideal mate. However, she should be fit and active and enjoy some of the same things that I do. She should be 53-67 years old(flexible). She should have a good sense of humor and be somewhat adventurous in a generic sense. She should be ready to make her partner her number 1 priority and expect the same from him. She should have good family values and enjoy my family as I would hers.

I have learned what I enjoy doing and spend my time doing those things whenever possible. Being a professional athlete would have been my choice as a profession but I at least became the hardest working amateur athlete that I could be. In the meantime I learned what I was better suited to, in order to make my life financially secure.
Much of life is never experienced if one is not open and honest in all our relationships. If one is afraid to relate to others things that make things better never become known. I practice this approach to life and look for this is others that I prefer to socialize with. Open in communication does not mean telling others what to do or trying to teach/improve your partner. Acceptance of your partner's shortcomings comes from maturity that I think I have attained and l even if I don't have any faults I expect my partner to accept the ones she thinks that I have.
