Date a man from United States. O.K., I'm NOT especially photogenic, but you need to let me know you exist!. It's likely you might feel similar angst and caution in searching for a compatible mate. We each need to let go for a moment and trust our judgement and curiosity with hope that we might find mutual attraction. I'm looking for a long-term relationship with a woman who can relate to at least a few of my interests, and I in return will try my best to reciprocate. Cool nights sharing a warm blanket, fresh-popped popcorn, a glass of wine, and watching a movie or reading a book are my ideal of a perfect end-of-day. I never fail to greet the new day with a smile and great expectations for what might arise. I have a spontaneous and imaginative streak, and don't let an opportunity to try something new escape my consideration.
Me: Engineer, entrepreneur, inventor, mechanic, Union Millwright, early personal computing pioneer, ex-San Francisco and British Rock Music participant, semi-retired, separated from my second wife (her choice!) for over 3 years (friendly no-fault divorce is in progress!). Looking for a loving and passionate relationship, sharing mutual interests and personal time as well. I have always been a monogamous and, in my opinion, caring and loving companion.
I'm level-headed, compassionate, no significant baggage issues emotionally or physically, and miss the physical and intellectual closeness of a loving woman who values herself as well as me.
Well-mannered and polite, good health and reasonably fit and active, love the outdoors (especially mountains and deserts), have one dog (Border Collie/Lab mix) and matching cat, live with my youngest daughter and son-in-law in Granite Bay, have a working gold claim near Iowa Hill where I love to spend spare time, and have a couple of part-time businesses that I run on the side.
I enjoy cooking (AND doing the dishes as I go!) and consider some of my specialties excellent for taste and quality. I'm more of a "jeans-and-tee shirt" type, but clean up nicely when the occasion requires it. My radio is almost always tuned to NPR (KXJZ), except for brief interludes with Grass Valley's KVMR on Sundays for their Blues programming. My cable TV selector is practically frozen on Turner Classic Movies.
I love early Rock music (especially some of the classic British bands of the '60's and '70's) as well as Blues, classic films, western history, and books by Poe, Jack London, Steinbeck, Frank Norris, Twain, among others. I've worked in the film industry around San Francisco in minor capacities in earlier years, have a background (as a technician) in Little Theater, and have consulted in mining research for Tuolumne County and Bureau of Land Management.
I was a Charter Docent for the former Towe Ford Museum in Sacramento, and was its first Docent Training Chairman. I like to write, and am working on three book ideas. I love to research subjects that are obscure and hold a degree of mystery and intrigue.
I'm a leader by nature, but follow well and competently when circumstances dictate. I'm even-tempered and fair in resolving potential conflict. My character is good natured , with a heightened sense of humor and playfulness. I am also a survivor and thriver after a bout with pancreatic cancer in 2003. No residual physical issues or impairments.
She: Sweet natured but can be perky and sassy, free spirited, self-confident, accomplished, not easily discouraged, attractive, adventuresome, and not unfamiliar with jeans and hiking boots, educated, and not taken to platitudes or attitudes. She has the capacity for equal parts Love, Friendship, Lust, and Trust, and not resistant to the physicality that a close and lasting bond would bring. She likes hugging and snuggling and expects to have her needs respected and fulfilled. She is NOT taken to the dogma of organized religion, nor presently incarcerated or institutionalized as that would tend to dampen further romance!
