Date someone special from Ventura, United States. There’s a movie that inspires me to write what I’m about to share with you. It’s what many consider a powerful romance. Yes a chic flick… Bridges of Madison County.
Clint Eastwood not only directed the film.. he also shared the screen with an actress who pulled off a performance of a lifetime in Meryl Streep .
Clearly, the simple story of a four-day romance between Francesca Johnson, an Italian war bride turned Iowa farm wife, and Robert Kincaid, a National Geographic photographer evokes poignant memories of the love that got away, for others it summons hopes of a soul mate yet to come.. Hmmm I guess that’s why I hope what I’m writing inspires you to do the same with me.
Kincaid was confidant, chivalrous, cavorted and indeed a conundrum in other parts of his life. I’ve always related to that character as a man making his way in the world and perhaps this will turn some of you off.. That’s not my intention yet for those of you that are still interested, here'a a bit more to contemplate when reaching out or responding to me.
I'm traditional regarding dating and courtship.. Protective at times and at ease in being chivalrous in a relationship. Staying active and evolved is great although I’m definitely not looking for just an activity bunny, as there’s so much to achieve together other than a busy schedule. This is why giving back to society in the form of time and money is critical for me and hopefully to you as well.

Some of you may say I don’t belong on here. I’m a widowed older dad, two kids still at home (14.6 yr old B&G entering high school in Aug), full-time working dude, crazy busy life. Women in my age group all appear to be empty nesters, looking for an untethered travel buddy to spontaneously fly off to far away lands - I envy you all - bon voyage and safe travels!!! Hoping to meet my female counterpart or at least someone okay with my situation. In exchange, you get the real deal - an honest decent grown-up gentleman still harboring a fun inner boy.
Some background and vital statistics on me: Widowed in ’04 after a sixteen yr. marriage and recently “divorced” from a six year relationship (never married, officially split up in March 2012), so I’m probably closer to a divorced guy. I don’t feel like I’m on the �rebound’ (no bad feelings or bitterness, excited about the future) but I should probably tread cautiously and avoid the deep end of the pool at least for a while. If you are also a little apprehensive about diving immediately into a serious relationship but would like to spend some quality time with an intelligent, funny, respectful, courteous gentleman who can accompany you out in the world, behave himself and pick up the tab now and then, I might just be a good possibility.

I have a 58 year old body that I’m comfortable in and still enjoy maneuvering around and grateful that I am healthy enough to ride the coasters at Magic Mountain, beat my kids down a ski run, ride my bike to Ojai. I’m quite imperfect (I sometimes curse profusely while on my back under sink attempting plumbing repairs) but will make it up to you by cooking a fine meal. I also see myself happiest with a strong woman who will lovingly point out to me when I’m behaving like a jack ass. Not looking to be rescued, not looking for a stepmother for my children (way too late for that to do any good!!!!). A good man in for the long haul.
