I have lived in the bay area most of my life, and I really like all that it has to offer.
I prefer dive bars to crowded clubs. I also enjoy staying in, opening a bottle of wine, and cooking dinner. Where I've been:
I grew up in SoCal then Connecticut through high school. I'll never live on the east coast again, but that is about the only absolute I will say for myself. College brought me to Arizona, but the heat drove me out... to Truckee.
I used to be a pilot, and have traveled at length domestically to include all 50 states. I would love to see more of Europe, Central and South America, Australia and New Zealand. There is a time for a nice hotel, and a time for a backpack and pair of boots. But the unplanned always seems to be more memorable, more enjoyable than the scripted. I love animals, and while I like to fish (catch and release) I have never hunted. I would usually prefer doing something under my own power than ride something motorized. I have a great dog that does most things with me.
Where I am:
I have a successful real estate business and love my job. I'm not a salesman, but an advisor for my clients. I can work from almost anywhere for a few weeks or maybe months at a time. I’m done with the bar scene, in fact I don't drink or take any mind altering substances. My health is very important and I would hope that yours is for you. Life is short so I make the best of every day. I love living in Truckee as there is always something to do outside. Obviously a date is the first step, but I'm not interested in dating as an end result. I would like to be in a long term relationship with the right woman. Marriage is a possibility but not a priority. I'm also open to having a family with the right woman. I like to be creative. The monkey reference comes mostly from the fact that the movie character I've most been able to identify with is the CGI Kong from Peter Jackson's remake. Maybe I'm just not so evolved. Maybe I've just got a few too many primal streaks. Maybe I just like carrying my pretty gal around with me. Whatever the case, it was surprising but, well... kinda true.
I love to dance, laugh, need touch and would like to learn how to argue a bit more. Karaoke can be fun and it can be terrifying. I don't understand why anyone would wear their pants so low that it makes them waddle like a penguin. I don't really know what "Burning Man" is. I'm confused by lip piercings. There is beautiful graffiti and there is annoyingly, baffling graffiti. I am frustrated by the latter. I chew with my mouth closed.
I am very good at self-deprecation. No, I take that back. I'm awful at it.

What has been so clear to me is that as wonderful as my life already is, I really want to share my life with someone else special to mutually enjoy our lives. This is going to scare off the wrong people and keep the right ones interested in reading on, but I am in settle down mode. Don't read this as I am in a rush, but I am just looking for more substance. Long gone are the party all weekend times. I am still going to go out and do some really fun things, but I am focused on enjoying life through other avenues. I love hosting event/parties with friends and family. Yes I do have some skills in the kitchen and I am not afraid to mix it up over a stove and try some new things. In fact my friends and I have a little potluck dinner where we can showcase our masterpieces, or at least our first drafts. Even though I love Bencotto Italian Kitchen (Some free pub for them) here in SD, my favorite is Ristorante di La Mole in the Tuscany region.
Now of course life would be amazing if all you had to do was travel, but we live in freakin San Diego. It is a year round vacation here and there is no way I could see myself living anywhere else permanently. My rather large family is located here and I get the greatest joy seeing my nieces and nephew grow up being very close to their uncle. I will warn you that my family is big and very close, and it can be a little intimidating because I have 5 sisters. No that was not a typo,
