Sorry if it seems like this profile seems like a resume, I'm not very good at writting these things, so it's a work in progress.
First things first. I am very younthful mentally. I do actually act my age, and operate there. Its just the age I feel and my chronological age are about 10 to 15 years apart. The reason I put this is becuase first meetings I can be a little ovewhelming.
I like doing endurance sports. I got into it by accident. I walked by a mirror, something didn't seem right. I got on the scale, and saw just how far that "something didn't seem right" really was. So the next day I started walking around the neighborhood, then jogging, next thing I know, I'm down 60 some odd pounds and running half marathons. I now have 7 half-marathons under my belt, and 5 full-distance marathons. Now disclaimer here:I'm not a fitness fanatic, healthy food nut, or one of the generally annoying "You shouldn't eat that!" people. I do it simply to challenge myself against myself, and it makes me feel like I'm a better person for it. And as a bonus I can eat good food. I usually be found at the gym, or book store, or movie theater, or Total Wine and Spirits, or something.
I was in the Navy for 6 years. I did communications on a nuclear submarine. I've been to 10 different countries, and the North Poles. Visiting Santa at his place was actually really cold.
I have a degree in Computer Information systems, but I found out the hard way I didn't really like the field. But I did find a profession that I do love and I am very good at it.
I got a really cool background in that my father is a real actual "cowboy." If you have seen the movie "Seabisquit," the part played by Chris Cooper, is what my father did until a few years ago until his back gave out. Now he makes saddles. I do have the pictures to prove my western background.
I do have one tattoo, but I keep it consealed. Not planning on getting any peircings any time soon. After a lot of thought, I plan to get a few more tattoos, but I have to earn them. I am going to get a Hermes' wings on ankles if I break the 4 hour barrier in a marathon. Pistons on my calves if I break the 3 hour barrier. And a Shramrock when I qualify for Boston. And the M-DOT logo when I eventually complete the Hawaiian Ironaman. Like I said I got to earn them.
All I really want is someone who is fun, can have a conversation, and is willing to adapt to the changes in life that change a relationship or life in general can bring. Maybe someone who can get in the dirt and not worry about getting dirty, and in fact have fun getting dirty(I mean actual dirt here). I like to cook for people and I am pretty good at it. After that I'm pretty easy going.
