We are all dealt a hand of cards in life: I'm a single and full time dad of one son. How do single parents do it? The best I've figured out is we live one day at a time, and each day builds upon the next. I have a bionic knee, so that eliminates running, snowboarding and downhill skiing from my activities. If you ski, I'll cook you up some homemade Thai curry, chilli, or tamales and have that hot beverage ready for you at the bottom of the slopes.
I treasure those simple moments in life, teaching my son how to cook, gardening, taking the dog for hikes, biking, listening to the birds sing, picking blueberries, sunsets, bike rides, and snuggling on the couch watching the ice crystals sparkle in the sun. Cup of hot tea by the fire...turning on the radio and just dancing the night away under the stars... Life is a treasure of moments; see them; live them; breath them; taste them.
Do you enjoy traveling and seeing other cultures? I'm open-minded, respectful, optimistic with a positive attitude and always looking to learn something new and find a silver lining.
I really enjoy cooking for my friends. Are you interested in trying some new foods, recipes and sharing time in the kitchen cooking together, or checking out the wildflowers on a hike? I'm always up for a good cup of coffee or tea and a great conversation, are you?

Meet a soulmate from Alaska, United States. ME: When I smile - it's big, legitimate and have been told contagious. I crack myself up often and sometimes even those around me (collateral damage?). I'm serious when it counts. I have varied interests and pursue them all with vigor - challenging myself is a great way to grow and learn about yourself in my experience. For me, the biggest satisfactions in life are the quiet ones and I can't really explain them beyond that here. I'm close with my family, my friends are dear too and I make a habit of visiting them often. While Alaska will always be home base - I love to travel, have extensively and plan to continue to (whether sailing overseas or flying in-State). My dog and I love to get around the State for work and play. I'm stubborn in many respects, can be mischievous, but I know right from wrong and have developed the bad habit of doing what's right. :) I'm thoughtful and don't leave the seat up on purpose. I'm loyal and loving. I've lost loved ones and feel like I know and have a deeper appreciation of that which is most important - not that I didn't previous or anything, but it's certainly reinforced now. My friends rave about how I have taught them the insigificance of scrubbing dishes BEFORE placing them in the dishwasher (so has my lab). :)
YOU: I'd like to meet a sweet, secure and something else that starts with an S - ohh, I remembered that one - savvy lady. :) You have developed your own tastes by now and well know what piques your interests and what doesn't. You're independent, playful and a dash of daring anyway.If your idea of being domestic is knowing how to get rid of that blue ink from a fire alarm - we might get along. If you're too shy to even post a pic on here you're nervy enough to at least say hi at Freddy's (unless you have that rare ability to send images thru telephathy - in which case you should just send me your number now). I work for the National Park Service so my life style is active. I love outdoor activity. I am looking to meet someone who likes to travel and is able to travel.. I am finishing up my second degree in parks and recreation management. I don't own a TV because I would rather be reading or outdoors. My work in Alaska is seasonal, and I am not sure if I will stay through the winter. I will probably be traveling, so can you travel and be spontaneous? I currently have travel plans thru march of next year, it would be nice to have a beautiful companion by my side. I am close to my parents as well as my brother, so traveling usually includes them. I plan to work for the park service until I retire, My current position is at Charlie river, however I like to move around so maybe I will work at Denali next season.
I believe that when you meet the right person things click and you will make the necessary sacrifices to be together, however I will not sacrifice my life style for anyone, that being said, I live life with spontaneity every day, considering every opportunity, usually taking most.
